🇯🇵 IAEA Training Workshop on Advanced BNCT 2025
📍 Okayama University & Osaka Medical and Pharmaceutical University (OMPU), Japan
🗓 18–21 November 2025

Three faculty members from the Division of Radiation Oncology, Department of Radiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital were selected to join this international training.

Over the four-day programme, participants enhanced their technical and clinical expertise in Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) through lectures, workshops, clinical case discussions, and research exchange with global experts.

The knowledge and experience gained will support BNCT development in Thailand and contribute to improved patient outcomes in the future.

🙏 We sincerely thank IAEA, Okayama University, Osaka Medical and Pharmaceutical University (OMPU), Prof. Kazuyo Igawa, and Prof. Koji Ono for their kind support, guidance, and warm hospitality throughout the programme.

On the second day of the MRL consortium, we had the honor of meeting one of the MRL pioneers, Prof. Jan Lagendijk, and MRL consortium founder, Prof. Alison Tree.They graciously shared their invaluable scientific knowledge and experience during the MRL conference 2022.

ในวันที่สองของการประชุม MR-Linac Consortium เราได้ได้พบกับหนึ่งในผู้บุกเบิกด้าน MR-Linac อย่าง ศาสตราจารย์ Jan Lagendijk และผู้ก่อตั้งกลุ่ม Consortium ศาสตราจารย์ Alison Tree ผู้ซึ่งเคยได้มาให้ความรู้ที่ SiRO เมื่อปี 2022

ตัวแทนจาก SiRO เข้าร่วมประชุม 'MRL Consortium 2025' ซึ่งจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 5-7 พฤศจิกายน 2568 ณ กรุงลอนดอน สหราชอาณาจักร การเข้าร่วมครั้งนี้ตอกย้ำถึงความมุ่งมั่นของ SiRO ในการเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของเครือข่ายระดับโลก เพื่อขับเคลื่อนการพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีการฉายรังสีขั้นสูง และยกระดับผลลัพธ์การรักษาผู้ป่วยมะเร็ง
MRL Consortium คือกลุ่มวิจัยนานาชาติที่ก่อตั้งขึ้นเพื่อส่งเสริมการนำเทคโนโลยีการฉายรังสีแบบมีภาพแม่เหล็กไฟฟ้า (MR-guided radiotherapy หรือ MR-linac) มาใช้อย่างมีหลักฐานเชิงประจักษ์ โดยมีเป้าหมายหลักในการค้นหาแนวทางที่เหมาะสมที่สุดในการใช้ MR-linac เพื่อเพิ่มอัตราการรอดชีวิตของผู้ป่วย เพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการควบคุมเนื้องอกเฉพาะที่ และยกระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้ป่วยให้ดียิ่งขึ้น นอกจากนี้การประชุมครั้งนี้เปิดโอกาสให้ SiRO ได้แลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ กับนักวิจัยและแพทย์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญชั้นนำจากทั่วโลก (รายละเอียดเพิ่มเติมในcomment)

🎉 A New Milestone in Cancer Care! 🎉

Our Siriraj Brachytherapy team has successfully treated the first case using the MAASTRO re**al applicator for an elderly patient with re**al cancer who was not suitable for surgery.

🎯 This advanced brachytherapy technique allows precise radiation delivery directly to the tumor, minimizing side effects and helping preserve the patient’s quality of life. It marks an important step forward in personalized and organ-preserving cancer treatment. 💪✨

🙏 Our sincere thanks to the MAASTRO team and VARIAN team for their kind support, guidance, and collaboration that made this achievement possible.
We would also like to express our gratitude to Assoc. Prof. Atthaphorn, MIS Unit, Department of Surgery, for performing endoscopic localization of the lesion with great precision — a key contribution to the success of this case. 💙
