🌧️ Hope You're Safe After the Floods 🌧️
We hope you and your loved ones are safe after last week's flooding in many parts of the city. Standing water can bring serious health risks, so please take care and stay informed.
⚠️ Leptospirosis (Rat urine disease)
This disease is caused by bacteria found in water contaminated with rat urine. Symptoms include high fever, muscle pain, red eyes, vomiting, and sometimes jaundice. If untreated, it can lead to kidney damage, meningitis, liver failure, or even death.
⚠️ Athlete’s Foot (Water-induced skin infection)
Prolonged exposure to dirty floodwater can cause skin infections like athlete’s foot. Symptoms include itching, redness, cracked skin, and pain. Keeping feet dry and clean is essential.
⚠️ Other flood-related diseases
Floods can also increase the risk of diarrhea, dengue fever, and skin rashes. Always wear protective gear when walking through floodwater and seek medical attention if you feel unwell.
Stay safe, stay dry, and take care of your health. 💙
