On September 4, 2025, at the Room 1C, Classroom 07, Preclinical Building, Ramathibodi Chakri Naruebodindra Hospital, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital hosted a special talk titled "Frontline Stories of Providing Care in Crisis." The presentation was delivered by Ms. Polly Cunanan and Dr. Karina Aguilar, distinguished guest speakers from Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders). The special talk was graciously opened by Associate Professor Kulapong Jayanama, M.D., Deputy Director of the Ramathibodi Medical School, who officially welcomed the delegates and extended a warm greeting to all attendees.

This occasion provided an opportunity to share valuable experiences regarding the provision of medical assistance to people facing crisis situations around the world. It also served to inspire and motivate students by enhancing their understanding of the challenges involved in humanitarian work and the spirit of volunteerism required for such endeavors. The special talk was well-received by all participants and offered profound insights into the realities of providing medical care in challenging circumstances.

On September 4, 2025, at the Meeting Room 1, 5th Floor, Office of the Dean, the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Professor Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., President of Mahidol University, and Associate Professor Nopranue Sajjarax Dhirathit, Vice President for Global Partnerships and University Council, welcomed a senior delegation from United Imaging Healthcare during a high-level meeting focused on academic cooperation and medical technology advancement.
The Mahidol University delegation included distinguished representatives from the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, led by Assistant Professor Suchin Worawichawong, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations, and Associate Professor Sith Phongkitkarun, M.D., Head of Department of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiology, along with departmental representatives. Representatives from the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital; Associate Professor Prapat Wanitpongpan, M.D., Deputy Dean for Corporate Communication & International Relations, and Assoc. Prof. Trongtum Tongdee, M.D., Head, Department of Radiology also participated in the discussions.
The United Imaging Healthcare delegation was headed by Dr. AI Zhang, Chairman & CEO, accompanied by other senior executives from the global medical technology leader.
The meeting centered on exploring opportunities for collaborative partnerships in academic research and medical technology development, reflecting both institutions' commitment to advancing healthcare innovation and education.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, hosted the 8th Mahidol University – University of Osaka Hospital Academic Conference on August 21, 2025, commemorating Ramathibodi Hospital's 60th anniversary. The theme of the joint conference this year is 'Bridging Continents, Advancing Health: Collaborative Innovations in NCD, Obesity, and Global Well-being. The event took place in Room 623, 2nd Floor of the Administrative Building at the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital.

The conference was officially opened by Clin. Prof. Artit Ungkanant, M.D., Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. In his opening remarks, the Dean expressed appreciation for the partnership and emphasized the critical importance of international collaboration in advancing health innovations and improving population well-being.
The academic gathering brought together faculty members and researchers from both Mahidol University and the University of Osaka Hospital to exchange knowledge across multiple health dimensions. Distinguished international speakers included Professor Ken Nakata, M.D., Director of the Center for Global Health at the University of Osaka Hospital, who delivered a presentation titled "New Perspective on Global Health" while Professor Emeritus Wichai Aekplakorn, M.D. also presented on "Growing Burden of NCDs: Real-world challenges and policy imperatives in Thailand."

The conference featured specialized sessions covering diverse medical topics, including regulations in medical innovation development, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), presentations by promising young investigators, ongoing collaborative research initiatives, obesity management, and cutting-edge medical technology applications.

This academic forum represents a significant platform for fostering international partnerships and advancing innovative approaches to treating non-communicable diseases and obesity, while promoting the development of modern health technologies. The collaboration aims to enhance healthcare system efficiency in Thailand and contribute to global health improvement efforts. The conference demonstrates the commitment and potential of both the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital and the University of Osaka Hospital in jointly advancing medical knowledge and promoting sustainable population health for the future.

Closing Ceremony of the “Training Program: Teaching Sign Language to Deaf Children for the Deaf Instructors from Wangsel Institute for the Deaf, the Kingdom of Bhutan”

On August 7, 2025, at Ratchasuda Institute, the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Dr. Somkiat Leelasithorn, M.D., Director of Ratchasuda Institute, presided over the closing ceremony of the “Training Program: Teaching Sign Language to Deaf Children for the Deaf Instructors from Wangsel Institute for the Deaf, the Kingdom of Bhutan.” The program had been conducted from July 9 to August 7, 2025.
On this occasion, Dr. Leelasithorn delivered the closing remarks and presented certificates of completion to all participants, together with the lecturer team. This training program serves as a pilot initiative for capacity building and reflects Mahidol University’s Strategic Goal 3—supporting sustainable development through knowledge exchange in the field of special education, with the aim of enhancing the quality of education for persons with hearing impairments.

เมื่อวันที่ 7 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2568 สถาบันราชสุดา คณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ได้จัดพิธีปิดโครงการฝึกอบรม “Training Program: Teaching Sign Language to Deaf Children for the Deaf Instructors from Wangsel Institute for the Deaf, the Kingdom of Bhutan” โดยมีนายแพทย์สมเกียรติ ลีละศิธร ผู้อำนวยการสถาบันราชสุดา ให้เกียรติเป็นประธานในพิธี
โครงการฝึกอบรมดังกล่าวจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 9 กรกฎาคม – 7 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2568 มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้และทักษะการสอนภาษามือสำหรับผู้มีความบกพร่องทางการได้ยิน ตลอดจนเสริมสร้างศักยภาพแก่คณาจารย์จาก Wangsel Institute for the Deaf ผ่านการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ในสาขาการศึกษาพิเศษ เพื่อพัฒนาคุณภาพการศึกษาและยกระดับมาตรฐานการเรียนการสอนสำหรับผู้ที่มีความบกพร่องทางการได้ยินในราชอาณาจักรภูฏาน
ในโอกาสนี้ นายแพทย์สมเกียรติ ลีละศิธร ได้กล่าวปิดโครงการและมอบเกียรติบัตรแก่ผู้เข้าร่วมฝึกอบรมทุกท่าน พร้อมทั้งทีมวิทยากรผู้ถ่ายทอดความรู้ โครงการนี้ถือเป็นโครงการนำร่องด้าน Capacity Building ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับยุทธศาสตร์มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ข้อที่ 3 ที่มุ่งเน้นการสนับสนุนการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน

On July 24, 2025, at the Meeting Room 910AB, 9th floor, Medical Learning Resource Center and Ramathibodi School of Nursing Building of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Ramathibodi held the inauguration ceremony for the Rays of Hope Anchor Centre, Ramathibodi Hospital which was co-chaired by Clinical Professor Artit Ungkanont, M.D., Dean, and Mr. Hua Liu, Deputy Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The event was also graced by Professor Piyamitr Sritara, President of Mahidol University, and Dr. Roongruang Kitpati, Director General of the Department of Science Service, who is currently serving as Acting Secretary-General of the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP), representing the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI).

The Rays of Hope Anchor Centre, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital represents a landmark achievement established through national collaboration, marking its distinction as the first institute dedicated to IAEA training at the Southeast Asian regional level. The establishment of this center reflects the shared vision of enhancing regional capacity building and fostering knowledge exchange among healthcare professionals across Southeast Asia, thereby contributing to improved patient care standards and medical practice throughout the region.

เมื่อวันที่ 24 กรกฎาคม 2568 ณ ห้องประชุม 910AB ชั้น 9 อาคารเรียนและปฏิบัติการรวมด้านการแพทย์และโรงเรียนพยาบาลรามาธิบดี คณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล จัดพิธีเปิด ศูนย์ Rays of Hope Anchor Centre, Ramathibodi Hospital โดยมีศาสตราจารย์คลินิก นายแพทย์อาทิตย์ อังกานนท์ คณบดีคณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล และ Mr. Hua Liu รองผู้อำนวยการใหญ่ทบวงการพลังงานปรมาณูระหว่างประเทศ (International Atomic Energy Agency: IAEA) ร่วมเป็นประธาน โอกาสนี้ ศาสตราจารย์ นายแพทย์ปิยะมิตร ศรีธรา อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล และ นายแพทย์รุ่งเรือง กิจผาติ อธิบดีกรมวิทยาศาสตร์บริการ รักษาราชการแทนเลขาธิการสำนักงานปรมาณูเพื่อสันติ (ปส.) ในฐานะผู้แทนปลัดกระทรวงการอุดมศึกษา วิทยาศาสตร์ วิจัยและนวัตกรรม (อว.) ร่วมเป็นเกียรติในพิธีเปิด

นับเป็นความสำเร็จครั้งสำคัญของคณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดลและประเทศไทย ที่ได้รับการแต่งตั้งให้เป็น Rays of Hope Anchor Centre แห่งแรกในภูมิภาคนี้ โดยการก่อตั้งศูนย์ฯ แห่งนี้เกิดขึ้นจากความร่วมมือระดับประเทศ และสะท้อนวิสัยทัศน์ร่วมกันในการเสริมสร้างศักยภาพระดับภูมิภาค รวมถึงส่งเสริมการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ระหว่างบุคลากรทางการแพทย์ทั่วทั้งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ซึ่งไม่เพียงแต่จะยกระดับมาตรฐานการดูแลรักษาผู้ป่วยมะเร็งของประเทศให้ทัดเทียมระดับสากล แต่ยังตอกย้ำบทบาทของไทยในการเป็นศูนย์กลางการเรียนรู้และฝึกอบรมด้านรังสีวิทยาในระดับนานาชาติ เพื่อขยายการเข้าถึงการรักษามะเร็งที่มีคุณภาพสู่ประเทศกำลังพัฒนา อันจะนำมาซึ่งความภาคภูมิใจและประโยชน์สูงสุดต่อมวลมนุษยชาติ

ขอเชิญบุคลากรและนักศึกษาผู้สนใจสมัครเข้ารับรางวัล UNESCO for Global Citizenship Education ประจำปี 2568 ซึ่งเป็นรางวัลที่มอบให้แก่โครงการริเริ่มด้านการศึกษาทั้งแบบทางการและไม่เป็นทางการที่มีการดำเนินงานในการเตรียมความพร้อมให้แก่เยาวชน โดยส่งเสริมให้เป็นพลเมืองที่รับผิดชอบและกระตือรือร้น โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งด้านการส่งเสริมการแลกเปลี่ยนด้านวัฒนธรรมการมีส่วนร่วมของนักเรียนกับการใช้ชีวิตในสังคมสาธารณะ และความเป็นพลเมืองดิจิทัล
