On December 18, 2025, at the meeting room on the 7th floor of Somdech Phra Debaratana Medical Centre, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Asst. Prof. Suchin Worawichawong, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations, together with Prof. Dr. Chonlaphat Sukasem, Chief of the Pharmacogenomics and Bioinformatics Laboratory, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Putthapoom Lumjiaktase, Lecturer in the Department of Pathology, and Prof. Roger Frutos, Visiting Scholar at the Department of Pathology, Ramathibodi, from CIRAD/Université de Montpellier, extended a warm welcome to distinguished delegates from several institutes participating in Mahidol University International Partnerships Week 2025 under the theme "Global Synergies for Sustainable Impact: Advancing Holistic Well-being and Partnerships for the Goals."

The delegates included executives from various leading universities ; University of British Columbia, University of New South Wales, Kunming Medical University, and Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University. During the meeting, participants engaged in productive discussions, exchanging academic information on pharmacogenomics. The delegates also visited the Pharmacogenomics Clinic to gain deeper insights into its operations. This engagement marks the beginning of potential future collaborations among the participating institutions.

On December 15, 2025, at Meeting Room 1, Office of the Dean, 5th Floor, Administration Building, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Prof. Clinical Dr. Artit Ungkanont, M.D., Dean of the Faculty, together with Asst. Prof. Suchin Worawichawong, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations, and faculty members from the Department of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiology, warmly welcomed Ms. Saranjit Srisarkun, Director of Political and Security Division, Department of ASEAN of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On this occasion, Ms. Saranjit Srisakul accompanied Mr. Deepayan Basu Ray, Director of the United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Asia and the Pacific (UNRCPD), along with a delegation of ASEAN Youth Representatives, winners of the Creative Art Competition under the theme of the Southeast Asia Nuclear Weapon-Free Zone Treaty (SEANWFZ), or the Bangkok Treaty, for a study visit and to observe the operations of the “Ramathibodi – IAEA Rays of Hope Anchor Centre.”

During the visit, the delegation explored the “Ramathibodi – IAEA Rays of Hope Anchor Centre,” a designated regional hub for clinical knowledge transfer, advanced radiotherapy techniques, and training for medical personnel across Southeast Asia. Additionally, they attended a special lecture titled "Radiation Usages in Medicine by Msc Student in the Medical Physics program," aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of the peaceful and beneficial applications of radiation in medical science.

ในโอกาสนี้ คณะผู้แทนได้ร่วมรับฟังการบรรยายพิเศษในหัวข้อ "Radiation Usages in Medicine by Msc Student in the Medical Physics program" เพื่อส่งเสริมความเข้าใจเรื่องการใช้ประโยชน์จากรังสีในทางการแพทย์อย่างสร้างสรรค์และปลอดภัย รวมทั้งเยี่ยมชมและรับฟังการบรรยายสรุปเกี่ยวกับบทบาทหน้าที่ของ “Ramathibodi – IAEA Rays of Hope Anchor Centre” ซึ่งได้รับการรับรองให้เป็นศูนย์ต้นแบบในการถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้ทางคลินิก เทคนิคการรักษามะเร็งด้วยรังสี และเป็นศูนย์ฝึกอบรมบุคลากรทางการแพทย์ในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้

On December 4, 2025, at the Main Hall, 1st floor of the Main Building, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, the Ramathibodi Foundation organized a ceremony to accept a sculptural work, the Bull Statue (Torito de Pucará), a contemporary artwork symbolizing the friendship between Thailand and Peru. The ceremony was honored by the presence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Peru to Thailand and the executive committee.

Clin. Prof. Artit Ungkanont, M.D., Dean, together with Chairman of the Ramathibodi Foundation Executive Committee, presided over the ceremony to receive the sculptural work, accompanied by H.E. Ms. Cecilia Zunilda Galarreta Bazán, Ambassador of the Republic of Peru to Thailand. The event was attended by executives and distinguished guests, including Pairoj Boonkongcheun, M.D., Vice Chairman of the Ramathibodi Foundation Executive Committee and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mrs. Punsiree Kunakornpaiboonsiri, Manager of the Ramathibodi Foundation, Assoc. Prof. Prakasit Chirappapha, M.D., Board Member of the Ramathibodi Foundation, and Mr. Martín Abarca, Third Secretary of the Embassy of Peru.

On this occasion, Mr. Vichai Bencharongkul, Chief Executive Officer and President, Benchachinda Holding Company Limited, graciously attended the ceremony and contributed a donation of 200,000 Baht to the Ramathibodi Foundation.

On December 11, 2025, at the Natth Bhamarapravati Meeting Room, 4th Floor, Department of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University; Asst. Prof. Suchin Worawichawong, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations, warmly welcomed Asst. Prof. Dr. Prasong Khaenam, Assistant Dean for Academic Services of the Faculty of Medical Technology, Mahidol University, along with the delegation from Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital (JDWNRH), Bhutan-led by Dr. Birendra Pradhan, Head of the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Department, on the occasion of their visit.
The discussion focused on collaboration to enhance quality in Anatomic Pathology, specifically regarding External Quality Assessment (EQA) and the Anatomic Pathology Laboratory Standards established by the Royal College of Pathologists of Thailand. These insights will serve as a framework for establishing laboratory standards and an EQA system for the Kingdom of Bhutan. Additionally, the delegation had the opportunity to visit the Department of Pathology’s laboratories.

On December 9, 2025, at the Meeting Room of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Associate Professor Arb-Aroon Lertkhachonsuk, M.D., Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, together with Assistant Professor Suchin Worawichawong, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations, along with the faculty staff of the Department, provided a warm welcome to Professor Christian Fiala, M.D., Ph.D., an international expert in Reproductive Health Care from Karolinska University Hospital (Stockholm, Sweden) and Gynmed Clinic (Vienna, Austria) on the occasion of his visit to Ramathibodi’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Professor Fiala also delivered a special lecture titled: “Abortion and Society: Autonomy Refused - The Ethics and Impact of Conscientious Objection in Reproductive Healthcare.”

The objective of this session was to exchange global knowledge, foster a deeper understanding of Medical Ethics, and broaden perspectives on Reproductive Health Care among faculty members, residents, and medical students. This initiative aims to further enhance the standards of patient care and academic excellence.

On December 3, 2025, at Meeting Room 1, Office of the Dean, 5th Floor, Administrative Building, the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Associate Professor Siriorn Watcharananan, M.D., Assistant Dean for International Relations, accompanied by Assistant Professor Streerut Thadakant, Head of Division of Maternal-Newborn and Midwifery, Ramathibodi School of Nursing; Associate Professor Nopporn Apiwattanakul, M.D., Head of Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Pediatrics, and Assistant Professor Prawat Chantharit, M.D., Head of Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Internal Medicine, extended a heartfelt welcome the distinguished delegates from Kunming Medical University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, China. The delegation from Kunming Medical University was led by Professor Xia Xueshan, the President, while the delegation from Shanghai Jiao Tong University was led by Professor Fan Xianqun, Academician of CEA, Vice President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, who is also the Chancellor of SJTSM.

The meeting focused on future collaboration, including academic exchanges for faculty and students, research collaboration in infectious diseases, and joint educational programs in nursing. Both parties expressed strong commitment to strengthening partnerships and fostering mutual development. The discussions emphasized the importance of sharing expertise and resources to advance medical education and research.

On 21 November 2025, at Meeting Room 1, Office of the Dean, 5th Floor, Administrative Building, the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, led by Clin. Prof. Artit Ungkanont, M.D., Dean, together with executives and representatives from various departments, warmly welcomed a delegation from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU Medicine).

The LMU delegation, led by Dr. Brigitte Brands, Head of Department of the Executive Board, along with a team of medical specialists from the MUM – Musculoskeletal University Center Munich, visited Ramathibodi to explore opportunities for further strengthening existing academic and institutional collaborations. Discussions included the initiation of joint research projects in Emergency Medicine, Biomechanics, Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery, Basic Research, and other related fields, as well as the establishment of a reciprocal doctor exchange program for both junior doctors and specialists.

On November 17, 2025, the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, launched a three-day “Ramathibodi Core Emergency Training for Border’s Medic” program, at the Mae Tao Clinic in Mae Sot, Tak Province, led by Asst. Prof. Suchin Worawichawong, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations, and Assoc. Prof. Chaiyaporn Yuksen, M.D., Head of the Department of Emergency Medicine, Asst. Prof. Kasamon Aramvanitch, M.D., alongside Paramedicine lecturers and Ph.D. students. This training program was in cooperation with and financially supported by Mahidol University Foundation Under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
The opening ceremony featured welcome remarks and warm hospitality from Asst. Prof. Ramate Wongwilairat M.D., Director of Mae Sot General Hospital, and Dr. Cynthia Maung, Director of Mae Tao Clinic.
Scheduled from November 17–19, 2025, the training aimed to significantly contribute to local capacity building in emergency care. This collaboration seeks to foster integration and cooperation between governmental agencies and international partners, promoting sustainable healthcare development along the Thai-Myanmar border.
This initiative is aligned with Mahidol University’s strategic plans, specifically Strategy 3: Policy Advocacy, Leaders in Professional/Academic Services, and Excellence in Capacity Building for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

เมื่อวันที่ 17 พฤศจิกายน 2568 คณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ได้จัดโครงการ Ramathibodi Core Emergency Training for Border’s Medic ณ Mae Tao Clinic อำเภอแม่สอด จังหวัดตาก โดยมีผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ นายแพทย์สุชิน วรวิชชวงษ์ รองคณบดีฝ่ายวิเทศสัมพันธ์ และ รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร. นายแพทย์ไชยพร ยุกเซน หัวหน้าภาควิชาเวชศาสตร์ฉุกเฉิน ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ แพทย์หญิงกษมล อารามวานิช เป็นผู้แทนคณะฯ พร้อมด้วยอาจารย์และนักศึกษาปริญญาเอกสาขาฉุกเฉินทางการแพทย์ ร่วมเป็นผู้นำการฝึกอบรม ซึ่งเป็นโครงการที่ได้รับการสนับสนุนจากมูลนิธิมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ในพระราชูปถัมภ์สมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี
ในโอกาสนี้ ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ นายแพทย์ราเมศ วงศ์วิลัยรัตน์ ผู้อำนวยการโรงพยาบาลแม่สอด และ Dr. Cynthia Maung ผู้อำนวยการ Mae Tao Clinic เป็นผู้แทนได้กล่าวต้อนรับในการฝึกอบรม
โครงการนี้ดำเนินการระหว่างวันที่ 17–19 พฤศจิกายน 2568 นี้ โดยเป้าหมายเพื่อเสริมสร้างขีดความสามารถให้แก่บุคลากรทางการแพทย์ (Medic) ในด้านเวชศาสตร์ฉุกเฉิน และมุ่งเน้นให้เกิดการบูรณาการและความร่วมมือระหว่างหน่วยงานภาครัฐและหน่วยงานต่างประเทศ เพื่อให้เกิดการดูแลสุขภาพที่ยั่งยืนในพื้นที่ชายแดนไทย-เมียนมา
โดยวัตถุประสงค์ของโครงการยังสอดคล้องกับแผนยุทธศาสตร์ของมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ยุทธศาสตร์ที่ 3: Policy Advocacy, Leaders in Professional/Academic Services, and Excellence in Capacity Building for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Ramathibodi Representatives Join Mahidol University Delegation the trip to Strengthen Academic Partnerships with Chinese Institutions

On November 12–13, 2025, Clinical Professor Artit Ungkanont, M.D., Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, along with Assistant Professor Suchin Worawichawong, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations, joined a distinguished delegation from Mahidol University, led by Professor Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., President, on a strategic visit to prominent academic and research institutions in China to advance academic exchange, strengthen institutional networks, enhance existing collaborations, and foster sustainable partnerships.

On the first day, November 12, 2025, the delegation visited Peking University Third Hospital and the Peking University Health Science Center, where they were welcomed by Professor Wang Jiadong, Vice President of the Health Science Center. The delegation then proceeded to the China National Center for Bioinformation (CNCB), affiliated with the Beijing Institute of Genomics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and was greeted by Professor Yungui Yang, Director of CNCB

On the second day, November 13, 2025, the delegation visited Tsinghua Medicine, Tsinghua University, where they were welcomed by Professor Wang Hongwei, Vice President of Tsinghua University.

Throughout the visit, the delegation engaged in substantive discussions with representatives from each institution, gaining valuable insights into their academic programs, research capabilities, and institutional priorities. These exchanges have established a strong foundation for future collaborative endeavors that will benefit both Mahidol University and its Chinese partner institutions. This visit underscores Mahidol University's commitment to international engagement and its dedication to building meaningful partnerships that advance excellence in education, research, and innovation on a global scale.
