What is an Autoimmune Disease?
The immune system is designed to attack any foreign invaders that we come in contact with, such as bacteria, cancer cells, or viruses to prevent illness and disease. Unfortunately, this system can become overactive and start attacking its own cells and organs. Ultimately, this manifests as an autoimmune disease. Which specific disease occurs depends on what specific area of the body is under attack.
Common autoimmune diseases include rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, multiple sclerosis, irritable bowel syndrome, and psoriasis. When people are house bound, ‘cabin fever’ sets in which is itself stressful and depressing. You can achieve social distancing and still be active and get some fresh air (oxygen) and exercise (build energy). You must get active every day.

Stress destroys body tissues and down-regulates your immune system function. Chiropractic adjustments relax your spine and your mind, build up and repair body tissue and the immune defense system. The immune system uses energy to build and repair against hostile attacks on the body and functions like an ‘army corps of engineers’ to rebuild body defenses against destructive illnesses and disease including easing your stress.

Chiropractic spinal adjustments re-balance your energy systems and helps you conserve your energy for the immune system when and where you need it most to defend against illness and disease instead of spending energy on feeling ‘stresses’.

2 Kinds of Masks: Surgical masks & N95 respirators

Surgical masks protect against LARGE droplets of body fluids but do not protect against inhaling smaller airborne particles.They are loose fitting and can easily leak in and/or out of the sides. CDC says they are not considered respiratory protection. N95 respirators are used by healthcare workers when treating virus infected patients.These masks are tight fitting and filter our 95% of airborne particles and are fit tested to avoid negating their benefit and are approved by CDC.
There is no conclusive evidence either mask prevents one from contracting viral disease or illness.Do not rely on masks to keep you protected from others...it probably won't help you. If you cough or sneeze it will help others from contracting illness from you, even if you are a carrier and don't know it.
Some studies have shown that wearing the mask can reduce spreading disease to others.They don't help the individual but they are good for society to minimize spread of disease to others.It is very important that 'sick' people (coughing, sneezing, fever, sore throat, flu-like symptoms) wear masks when going outdoors and contacting the public.
The best thing you can do is avoid people your know to be sick (coughing, sneezing, fever, sore throat, flu-like symptoms), wash your hands every time you touch any surface that others may have touched, avoid touching your face, and clean commonly touched surfaces with 70% ethanol. If your have a mask consider giving it to someone who is coughing or sneezing because it will help all of us get through this thing.

COVID-19 Matters of Fact

A mask and staying at home will protect others from you if you are infected.

Now protect yourself from others who are infected by boosting your immune system with the following most important immune boosting behaviors:

• 6 to 8 hours regular sleep every day

• Regular exercise

• Increase select nutrients (especially Magnesium, B6, Zinc, etc.)

• Decrease Bad Food Habits (especially Omega 6 foods, grains, dairy, etc.)

• Decrease stress (physical, chemical, mental/emotional)

• Wash hands with 70% ethanol for 20 seconds regularly and wipe commonly touched surfaces

• Do not touch your face

• And of course, regular spinal adjustments by a trained, certified, licensed doctor of Chiropractic
