On 16 October 2023, an exciting day with the UK Higher Education Mission's visit to Thailand! 🌏 It all began with informative briefings by Mr Ben Morley, who welcomed guests on behalf of the British Embassy and the British Council, sharing insights on Thailand's political and educational landscape, and prospects and opportunities for UK universities in the higher education sector 📚

Following that, Mr Saran Vajraphai, Director of the Global Human Capital Development Group, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) introduced Thailand's higher education system, offering a wealth of local educational opportunities 🎓

In the afternoon, delegates from 12 UK universities met with more than 25 Thai universities, setting the stage for future collaboration and exchanges in various areas including joint/double degrees, mobility, and research collaboration. 🤝🌍

We also had the pleasure of exploring Chulalongkorn University's beautiful campus. 🏛️🌿

Grateful for this opportunity to connect and learn. Let's continue building bridges between nations for a brighter education future! 🌟

On 5 October 2023, Sam Myers, Deputy Trade Commissioner met with 16 UK EdTech Companies who exhibit at UK Pavilion, BETT Asia 2023 and take a further discuss with SEAMEO Secretariat, on how the UK can continue to support ASEAN education priorities.

The discussion continues with Malaysian Deputy Minister YB Dato’ Mohammad Yusof bin Apdal and Director Educational Technology Zainal Abas to strengthen UK - Malaysia education ties and further engagement with SPK Indonesia to explore ways to support teacher professional development.

On 30 August 2023, UK and Thailand together delivered “The Information-Sharing Session on Alcohol Trade,” an activity under the UK-Thailand JETCO workplan in the area of food and drink cooperation.

The session was chaired by Dominic James, Bilateral Trade Relations Directorate, accompanied by experts from UK Department for Business and Trade, UK HM Revenue & Customs, UK HM Treasury and Thailand’s Excise Department.

The session aims to enhance understanding about alcohol excise taxation and alcohol importation process as well as improve alcohol trade between the UK and Thailand.
