It is our great pleasure to welcome you all to the 13th World Congress of The World Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases (WSPID 2023), held on the 14-17 November 2023 in Durban, South Africa. Our congress this year, back to the presential modality, gives center stage to investigating how childcare is affected by an ever-changing world. WSPID 2023 will highlight what is happening in our field due to pandemics and post-pandemic periods, politics, global warming and climate change – what our response is at present, what our considerations are and where do we go from here. We will bring together internationally renowned clinicians and researchers who will present and discuss significant and exciting developments in the diversity of infectious disease topics relevant to both participants coming from low, middle and high resource countries. There will be ample opportunities for much needed networking, professionally and socially. We are looking very much forward to welcome you to beautiful sunny Durban, for an inspiring and vivid congress bringing you the latest advances in the field as well as a much needed social and emotional post pandemic revival.
