Filmfarm Ban FilmFarm is THE producer of Oyster Mushroom in the Ban Fang area of Khonkean. Straw mushrooms (Volvariella volvacea)
2.

The mushrooms are picked twice each day, morning and evening and sold to local business and residents. Mushrooms, a fungus in the class Basidiomycetes, have a high nutritional value and are thus very beneficial to humans. Mushrooms contain more essential minerals than red meat, are low in fats and are a good source of protein. Medical research has also shown that mushrooms contain eritadenine, a substance that helps prevent fat build-up in blood vessels. Many types of mushrooms are grown and collected in Thailand for home consumption and sale in local markets. The mushroom varieties most commonly grown on a commercial scale in Thailand are:
1. Oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus)
3. Angel mushrooms (Pleurotus sarjov-coju)
4. Abalone mushrooms (Pleurotus cystidiosus)
5. Wood ear mushrooms (Auricularia auricula)
Filmfarm will initially produce the first two in the list.

Also on the 7th we purchased some logs for Straw mushrooms. They are not grown in the logs but cultivated in straw. We have 3 different test beds of these going on at present too. The photo is not of our mushrooms yet but are the target.

There was plenty of room for more logs in the hut so we decided to purchase 50 logs from a second supplier on the 7th of July. This supplier has turned out to be a very knowledgeable individual and has helped us understand some unknowns.
