Art, nature and conservation came together beautifully with JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa . After an inspiring evening at Drift Beach Bar & Grill , three brownbanded bamboo sharks from our Bamboo Shark Nursery were released into the Andaman Sea, each nurtured from egg to ocean over six months of care.

We’re grateful for this meaningful collaboration and shared commitment to marine stewardship.

Art, nature and conservation came together beautifully with JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa. After an inspiring evening at Drift Beach Bar & Grill , three brownbanded bamboo sharks from our Bamboo Shark Nursery were released into the Andaman Sea. A small but meaningful step for ocean stewardship, and a collaboration we’re truly proud of.

Seamounts are underwater mountains rising from the seafloor, often hidden far from land. They create nutrient-rich currents that attract fish, sharks, and migratory species, making them biodiversity hotspots. Despite their importance, many seamounts remain unprotected and vulnerable to deep-sea fishing and mining.

Preserving these submerged landscapes helps maintain healthy ocean food chains and supports fisheries that coastal communities depend on, even when the mountains themselves remain unseen.

Plankton may be tiny, but they quietly support life on Earth. These microscopic organisms produce over half of the oxygen we breathe and form the foundation of the marine food web. They also play a key role in capturing carbon from the atmosphere.

Changes in water temperature and pollution directly affect plankton populations, with ripple effects across entire ecosystems. Protecting ocean water quality protects the planet’s smallest, most essential workforce.

🌊 The Oceans For All Foundation is proud to celebrate the real, measurable impact achieved through our partnership with AXA Thailand as part of the Licence To Clean project.

Thanks to AXA’s continued support, the project scaled significantly in 2025 with the addition of a second eco-friendly catamaran on the Chao Phraya River. Together, LTC004 and LTC005 recovered 52,110 litres of river waste in 2025 alone, nearly an 80% increase year-on-year, with almost half of all collected waste diverted to recycling. This is what effective corporate–NGO collaboration looks like: practical action, transparent results, and long-term environmental value.

We extend our sincere thanks to AXA Insurance Thailand for their leadership, trust, and commitment to protecting Thailand’s waterways through the Licence To Clean initiative. Your support directly enables healthier rivers, stronger communities, and scalable solutions for aquatic ecosystems.

Blue carbon refers to carbon stored in marine and coastal ecosystems such as seagrass meadows, salt marshes, and tidal flats. These habitats capture carbon faster and store it longer than many land-based forests, locking it safely into sediments for centuries. When these ecosystems are damaged, that stored carbon can be released back into the atmosphere.

Protecting blue carbon areas is one of the most effective nature-based climate solutions, strengthening coastlines, supporting fisheries, and helping stabilise the climate.

Ocean gyres are vast, slow-moving circular currents that redistribute heat, nutrients, and marine life across the planet. They help regulate global climate by moving warm and cold water between the equator and the poles. When pollution enters these systems, it can remain trapped for decades, accumulating as floating debris zones.

Understanding gyres reminds us that waste discarded in one place can travel thousands of kilometres, reinforcing the need for responsible waste management everywhere.

On the last day of 2025, one number truly mattered: 35,003.

Since June 29, 2023, 35,003 visitors have stepped into our 40-minute Bamboo Shark Nursery workshop , discovering firsthand why sharks matter and how ocean conservation begins with knowledge, curiosity, and connection.

That single number represents more than 23,300 hours of direct, face-to-face environmental education; real people. real conversations. real impact.

On average, 14,000 people every year leave our nursery with a new understanding of sharks and the ocean.

But education is only one part of the story.

Through its ReSharking the Reefs program, Oceans For All Foundation is actively restoring shallow reef ecosystems around Thailand by releasing close to 200 juvenile bamboo sharks back into their natural habitat, in this way, turning learning into measurable, on-the-water impact.

And the ripple continues.

Each visitor shares what they’ve learned with at least two others, meaning our message has likely reached over 100,000 people through conversations at home, sparks of curiosity, and stories carried far beyond the reef.

From a single visit grows a ripple of awareness , spreading across families, communities, and generations.

This is how change begins.
One shark. One story. One person at a time.

And none of this would be possible without an exceptional partner.
Our heartfelt thanks go to JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa for believing in this vision from day one, for placing conservation at the heart of the guest experience, and for proving that luxury hospitality and meaningful environmental action can - and should - go hand in hand.

By opening its doors to education, curiosity, and purpose, the resort has helped turn a nursery into a platform for lasting change, one visitor at a time.

stay tuned

Ghost Gear

Lost or abandoned fishing gear, known as ghost gear, continues to trap marine life long after it’s discarded. Nets, lines, and traps drift through the ocean, entangling fish, turtles, and even whales. These materials are designed to be durable, and as a result, they can remain active for decades.

What You Can Do
Preventing gear loss, supporting responsible fisheries, and recovering abandoned equipment are some of the most effective ways to reduce this hidden threat.

Ending ghost fishing protects both marine life and livelihoods.
