Food is energy!! Food that is freshly cooked is filled with life force and Agni aka fire. If you want good digestion, have foods with life fore and Agni. Eat in a calm environment and chew your food thoroughly.

Imbalances are caused when we are eating food that are not suitable for our constitution. Some of us need warm cooked foods such as Vata dosha and Pitta can thrive on raw cooling foods.

This one specifically by superfeast has lions maine super good for memory and promotes digestion too. Along with Gingko, peony, mucuna and rhodiola boots mood, enchance memory and fights stress. Anthocyanins are the pigment responsible for the color known for its antioxidants. Good for cardiovascular health, increased longevity and prevents dementia! TEFF: Have you tried teff grain before? This is my first time cooking with teff and Im surprised how good this delicious superfood taste. It is suitable for Autumn/Winter season. It is a smallest known grain originated from Ethiopia.

Teff provides 25 percent of our daily required magnesium! This is the nutrient most people are deficient with and need most of. Magnesium calms the mind, relaxes the muscles and also improves digestion.

20 percent of daily iron intake. Vegans or vegetarians start consuming Teff! Ahhmazing! How did I just only started using Teff?

Other benefits includes:

Just what my mom would make for me during this cold winter season 🌻

Vata pacifying recipe:

Indian carrot dessert or aka Ghajar ka halwa. The recipe is warming, moist, sweet and grounding to help balance the dry, rough and cold nature of Vata dosha.

Carrot is the Queen of this recipe. It is a root vegetable therefore grounding, sweet and nutritive for Vata dosha.

The recipe includes:

🍂Grated carrots

🍂Raisins

🍂Coconut oil to cook with

🍂Coconut flakes

🍂Almond meal

🍂Spices: turmeric, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger powder

🍂Coconut sugar

I recommend having the dessert alongside golden milk tea with turmeric, ashwaghanda powder, plant-based milk, honey and blackpepper to help with absorption of turmeric.

Drinking warm milk along with adaptogen such as ashwaghanda powder helps to calm Vata's nervous system and helps with sleep.

There is really nothing like home food prepared with love. Ive been eating out for a few days this week and my body was craving for home cooked nourishing meal. I understand that cooking isnt for everyone but there are many ways to make cooking a sacred ritual process:

🌻Get creative by experimenting with spices youve never used before. I like to browse on pintrest for ideas and recipes. I also like to experiment with colors, they add such life to the food!

🌻Put on some music. Create an atmosphere in the kitchen. Pour some love into the process and into the food. Afterall you ll be eating it and this in return becomes our cells, blood and skin

🌻Dance while you cook because kitchen is made for dancing!! Add in some extra workout

🌻Listen to a podcoast. Yes you can multi task while cooking. I use my wireless headphones sometimes while Im cooking

🌻Use palo santo to cleanse the space before cooking

🌻Cook once eat twice. 🍁

This Aromatic lemony basmati rice will help you beat the winter blues. The Queen herb of this rice recipe is Saffron.

Saffron are such a delicate pretty looking herb. This herb is tridoshic. The taste is pungent and astringent. Benefits of saffron acts as a cooling blood purifier, skin tonic, cools the mind. It is also an aphrodisiac, nervine, diuretic, grounding and nutritive.

Apart from saffron that added this bright yellow color to the rice, was turmeric. Including cinnamon, cardamom, sweet paprika, onion powder and pink salt, lemon juice and edible flowers.

Pitta dominates digestion. Eat your largest meal during the afternoon between 11 to 2Pm.

Vata time 2 - 6Pm is the perfect time for doing projects, creativity, brain storming ideas and studying

Kapha time 6-10am is when our digestion starts to slow down. This is time to rest. Start the morning with warm water and lemon water along with a piece of fruit instead of having heavy rich breakfast.

Kapha does very well with fasting as their agni/ digestive fire is low.

Fasting can make Vata ungrounded

Fasting can make Pitta agitated due to their fast digestion.

If youre Pitta Kapha dominant dosha or Vata Kapha dominant you may do well with intermittent fasting.

Try fasting during Kapha hours and wait to have your biggest meal during Pitta hours and notice how you feel. It may or may not be for you.

Personally I am a Vata Kapha dominant dosha and intermittent fasting works well for me. Sometimes I do notice the ungroundness from fasting every now and then which is possibly due to my Vata dosha.

Have you tried intermittent fasting? And do you drink any type of liquids during fasting? On the days that Im fasting I will start my day with glass of warm water and lime juice with acv to stimulate my Kapha digestion. Then I would have a cup of organic coffee homemade with Mct oil, medicinal mushrooms and maca powder all warm and blended together.

Did you know the coffee is actually good for Kapha dosha? Of course in moderation. Due to its bitter flavor and Kapha needs a little stimulation. And when you add magic herbs like medicinal mushrooms and maca powder that are good for your hormones you ll be good to go. 🔥

Beat inflammation while keeping yourself warm this winter. What are you having for lunch? Try this Pitta Kapha Pacifying soup:

Inflammation and heat is the key word for Pitta. One of the ways to cool down the inflammation is to consume alkalizing green leafy vegetables. Pitta needs sweet, bitter and astringent.

Kapha needs pungent, bitter and astringent.

This recipe is meant to balance both Pitta and Kapha dosha or those with Pitta Kapha dosha as dominant.

The recipe consist of:

🍃Broccoli: taste bitter, element air

🍃Zucchini: taste neutral, element water

🍃Celery: Pungent and bitter. Element air and fire

🍃Spinach: Bitter and astringent. Element air

🍃Ginger: Pungent, element earth and fire. Pacifies all doshas

🍃Red onions: sweet abd pungent. Element earth and fire

🍃Coconut yoghurt: Sweet. Element earth and water

🍃Avocado: Sweet. Element earth and water

🍃Lime: Sour. Pacifies all doshas

Greens are associated with the heart chakra. If you have cardiovascular diseases, hypertension this recipe would also suit you. 💚

Pitta: Sharp, intelligent, igniter, transformer, a leader and mentor, joyful.

Their elment is fire and water

The site for Pitta is the stomach, the naval, skin, liver, spleen, gallbladder.

When Pitta is high you can get frustrated and angry. Inflammation is the key word when it comes to Pitta conditions. So if you find yourself getting liver problems, acne, profusely sweating, fever, yellow coating in the tongue thats a sign of Pitta imbalance.

⚡Spend time near the water.

⚡ Avoid exercising during the Pitta hours between 11 to 2PM.

⚡Include alkalizing green leafy vegetables to detox the liver and cool the system

⚡Include bitter herbs such as dandelions, milk thistle

⚡Choose lime over lemons. As lime is cooling

⚡Soak some almonds in the water overnight and in the morning peel the skin off and eat 3 to 4 almonds in morning. Almonds are sweet and suitable taste to help balance Pitta

⚡Moon bathing

So what if your Pitta is low? Pitta dominates the digestion. If our digestive fire is low then we are possibly low on Pitta. How to increase digestive fire?

⚡Increase and add warming spices to your meals: blackpepper, Cayenne pepper, cumin, turmeric, ginger

⚡Add Apple cider vinegar in your lemon water in the morning

⚡Do some core exercsies, cardio and movements to stimulate digestive fire

⚡Fruits wirh fibers: Mangoes, papayas, pineapple

⚡Have your biggest meal during the Pitta time when your digestive fire is at its peak between 11to 2Pm.

⚡Avoid eating four hours before bed time

⚡Self massage with warm oil and warming essential oils to stimulate digestion such as ylang ylang, wild sweet orange oil, sandalwood
