Details on the Public Tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother

His Majesty the King has graciously granted permission for the general public to pay their respects to the late Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, as follows:
• The public may pay tribute before Her Majesty’s portrait at Saha Thai Samakhom Pavilion, the Grand Palace, every day from 08:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., starting from Monday, 27 October 2025 onward.
• Following the royal merit-making ceremony on the 15th day, the King has graciously permitted the public to pay homage before the royal remains at Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon daily, beginning Sunday, 9 November 2025.
• A royal condolence book will be provided at the tribute area for members of the public to sign and express their condolences.
• Arrangements have been made to accommodate mourners at Sanam Luang, including waiting areas, tents, and screening points, with designated routes for entry.
• Visitors are requested to dress respectfully in mourning attire (black or white), carry identification (ID card or passport), and may bring a plain-colored umbrella if necessary.

As the wife of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, she supported local causes and traveled the world, charming government leaders and the public.

🦴 Osteoporosis and Caffeine: What You Should Know ☕

Osteoporosis is a condition in which bone mass decreases, leading to weakened bone strength and an increased risk of fractures.
It is commonly found in the elderly, especially women aged 65 and above.
This condition can be caused by several factors such as hormonal changes, genetics, vitamin D deficiency, and insufficient calcium intake.

Coffee contains caffeine, which has been linked to osteoporosis because it can interfere with calcium absorption and increase calcium excretion through urine.
However, studies have shown that the effect of caffeine is not strong enough to conclude that drinking coffee directly causes osteoporosis.

👉 Therefore, coffee is not a major cause of bone loss when consumed in moderation.
Excessive intake, however, may contribute to reduced bone density.
It is recommended to check the caffeine content on product labels.
The safe daily intake of caffeine is about 300–400 mg, equivalent to approximately 3 cups of coffee.
(For example, 2 teaspoons of instant coffee mixed with 150 ml of water contains about 100 mg of caffeine.)

⚠️ Be mindful of sugar and creamer in your coffee as well, since excessive amounts can increase the risk of hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases.

• Ensure adequate calcium intake
• Avoid risk factors such as smoking or excessive alcohol consumption
• Engage in regular physical exercise

กระดูกพรุน คือภาวะที่เนื้อกระดูกบางลงจากปกติ ความแข็งแรงของกระดูกลดลง ทำให้กระดูกหักง่าย พบมากในผู้สูงอายุโดยเฉพาะผู้หญิงที่มีอายุ 65 ปีขึ้นไป โดยเกิดขึ้นได้จากหลายปัจจัย เช่น การเปลี่ยนแปลงของฮอร์โมนพันธุกรรม การขาดวิตามินดี การได้รับแคลเซียมไม่เพียงพอ

สำหรับกาแฟนั้นมีกาเฟอีนเป็นส่วนประกอบ ซึ่งกาเฟอีนเป็นปัจจัยหนึ่งที่มีความสัมพันธ์กับภาวะกระดูกพรุนเนื่องจากมีผลขัดขวางการดูดซึมแคลเซียมเข้าสู่ร่างกาย และเพิ่มการขับแคลเซียมออกทางปัสสาวะ ซึ่งอาจส่งผลต่อแคลเซียมในกระดูกก็จริง แต่ไม่ได้มีผลกระทบที่รุนแรงจนสามารถสรุปได้อย่างชัดเจนว่า การได้รับกาเฟอีนจากการดื่มกาแฟเป็นสาเหตุทำให้เกิดภาวะกระดูกพรุน

ดังนั้น กาแฟไม่ใช่สาเหตุหลักถ้าดื่มตามปกติ แต่อาจเป็นปัจจัยหนึ่งที่ทำให้กระดูกบาง หากดื่มในปริมาณมาก แนะนำให้อ่านฉลากปริมาณกาเฟอีนที่ควรได้รับต่อวัน คือไม่เกินวันละ 300 – 400 มิลลิกรัมกรณีเป็นกาแฟสำเร็จรูปพร้อมดื่มชนิดเหลว หรือประมาณ 3 แก้ว โดยกาแฟ 2 ช้อนชา ผสมน้ำ 150 มิลลิลิตร มีปริมาณกาเฟอีนประมาณ 100 มิลลิกรัม นอกจากนี้แล้วควรระมัดระวังการได้รับน้ำตาล และครีมที่มากเกินพอดีจากการดื่มกาแฟ เพราะเพิ่มความเสี่ยงของการเกิดโรคความดันโลหิตสูง เบาหวาน และโรคหลอดเลือดหัวใจ

อย่างไรก็ตาม สามารถดูแลตัวเองเพื่อลดความเสี่ยงในการเกิดภาวะกระดูกพรุนได้ โดย

- รับประทานแคลเซียมให้เพียงพอ
- หลีกเลี่ยงปัจจัยเสี่ยง
