L’approbation récente de l’inavolisib par l’EMA marque une étape décisive dans le traitement des patientes atteintes d’un cancer du sein ER+/HER2- présentant des mutations PIK3CA, particulièrement après une thérapie endocrinienne adjuvante.
​🔍 Pourquoi est-ce important ?
​Environ 40 % des cancers du sein HR+ sont porteurs de mutations PIK3CA.
​Ces mutations sont liées à une résistance à l’hormonothérapie.
​L’association inavolisib + palbociclib + fulvestrant a démontré une réduction de 58 % du risque de progression ou de décès, portant la survie sans progression de 7,3 à 17,2 mois.
​Afin de garantir que les patientes reçoivent la thérapie ciblée la plus appropriée, une détection fiable des mutations PIK3CA dans les tissus tumoraux ou le plasma est essentielle.
