When it comes to recovery, there are naturally differences from one patient to another.

Although most patients become socially presentable within 2–3 weeks, several factors can influence the speed and pattern of healing ⬇️

1️⃣ Younger patients generally heal faster.

2️⃣ Patients who previously had treatments such as under-eye fillers, thread lifts, fat transfer, or radiofrequency treatments often heal more slowly — particularly in the under-eye area.
This is because such treatments may permanently affect the lymphatic drainage network in that region, which can occasionally lead to prolonged under-eye swelling. Fortunately, this remains uncommon.

3️⃣ A more complex surgical combination does not necessarily mean a longer recovery.
Other factors such as blood pressure fluctuations, anxiety, individual bleeding tendency, tissue characteristics, and lymphatic response often play a more significant role in the healing journey.

The good news is: we have very effective tools and strategies to manage, reduce, and even prevent many of these challenges ✅

This lovely patient travelled from Greece 🇬🇷 to London 🇬🇧 after previously undergoing an unsuccessful rhinoplasty and several filler treatments to the nose. Unfortunately, those attempts had not achieved the result she was hoping for.

We performed a Closed Revision Rhinoplasty without the need for rib cartilage, carefully correcting the previous issues and restoring balance and harmony to the nose. ✨

Revision rhinoplasty does not always require rib cartilage.

Thanks to the techniques I have developed over the years, I am able to perform more than 90% of revision rhinoplasty cases without using rib cartilage.

Through a hidden incision inside the mouth, we carefully reshape the chin bone using specialised electronic instruments. This means no visible scars and a very precise contouring of the lower face. 🔬

This lovely lady came to us following an unsuccessful open rhinoplasty performed elsewhere, which unfortunately resulted in:

❌ Supra-tip (Polly-Beak) deformity
❌ Over-projected nasal tip
❌ Severe nasal and septal deviation with breathing difficulties

After a detailed assessment, I performed A+ Closed MicroSculpt Revision Rhinoplasty — without using rib cartilage ✅

In revision rhinoplasty, every millimetre matters! The closed scarless approach allows us to operate without an external incision, helping to minimise additional trauma in an already operated nose and reducing revision-related risks ✅✅

With my 🌟NoRib philosophy, we corrected the deformities by utilising the patient’s existing septal cartilage and remaining native tissues inside the nose. This avoids creating a second surgical site, shortens operative time, and enhances predictability by working with biologically integrated structures 🙏🏻

In more than 90% of my revision rhinoplasty cases, I can achieve a strong, stable framework using this method — providing long-term structural support and natural aesthetics 💪🏼

Of course, if the remaining cartilage is significantly damaged or insufficient, we may need to consider cadaveric rib or the patient’s own rib cartilage. The key is selecting the right strategy for each individual nose 🌺
