Topic: Solidarity and Working with Collective Traumas in PsychoSociodrama

About 100 years ago, J.L. Moreno broke new ground with his individual and social healing system. Moreno's concept of sociatry refers to the healing of society, and its method is sociodrama. Today's societies are facing a major global crisis, with economic, social, biological, and environmental disasters occurring one after another. Therefore, humanity must transition towards a new world order; otherwise, the end is near. Moreno refers to this as the Therapeutic World Order. This workshop aims to explore these topics and engage in work within the context of SocioPsychodrama.

Topic: WORKING WITH TRAUMA AND COLLECTIVE TRAUMA IN THE CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENTS

This course will focus on the impact of trauma and collective trauma in the developmental phase of childhood and adolescence. The knowledge and research on the effects of collective trauma in childhood and adolescence, as well as about the therapeutic interventions are still very limited. But it is shown, that social identities and the socio-cultural narratives of traumas have a very significant influence on the processing of the trauma and its long-term sequels.
The importance of acquiring knowledge and skills for working with the collective trauma in childhood grows after research is proving the transmission of the effects of trauma through generations in different ways.
In childhood and adolescence, the type of trauma and the collective reactions and narratives of the trauma are crucial to understanding the impact and the psychological effects of the trauma. This understanding is needed to explore the levels, possibilities, and limitations of the interventions during these developmental phases.
With some examples of narratives about the earthquake or the war from the affected families, using the psychodrama stage, sociodrama, and sociometry, we will explore the differentiated understanding of the impact and the positive and negative aspects of collective trauma.
The question of what means healing or helpful intervention will be approached with different ways of working with affected systems. The complexity of collective traumas will be presented, analyzed, and discussed in a playful and interactive way.

Abstract text: I have worked with psychodrama groups for 15 years and as a family therapist for 10 years. My path as a therapist has been looking for ways to heal a person's individual traumas (attachment, developmental and shock trauma). Psychedelics - entheogens, are making a big comeback on the therapy landscape. What is their history?

Sexual trauma is the exposure to any sexually inappropriate behaviours that cause a person to experience a great deal of stress. While there is some evidence to suggest that trauma may play a role in shaping sexual preferences and identity over time. During this psychodramatic training course we will deal with the healing ways of the trauma attired sexuality and the human values that a therapist should have so as to be a therapy companion to the traumatised subject.

Topic: Integrating Arts( poetry and paintings) in Group Analytic interventions for Trauma

Art is inculcated into cultures, it's a Universal Language, speaking directly to senses and thus to all human beings. Art has a profound therapeutic capacity, especially when dealing with traumatized persons, given its unique access to the most intimate aspects of one's psyche, offering opportunities for processes of memory, balancing, hope, progress and evaluation. The encounter of traumatised ones in the Group Matrix is a meeting between different perspectives, feelings and fantasies, with potential for processing, reparation and regeneration; but there are also destructive and traumatic forces in it. In order to connect in a positive way, we need to enlarge\improve the ways of communication in the Matrix. During the workshop,we will explore the interplay between Poetry and spontaneous-Drawing into the Group analytic processes, when dealing with traumatized individuals or groups. As Plutarch said, Painting is silent Poetry, and Poetry is Painting that speaks.

Topic: THE TRANSFORMATIVE WISDOM OF DREAMS IN THE WORK WITH COLLECTIVE TRAUMA

This experiential training group will show in the pre - conference how the model of Jungian Psychodrama will work on the collective trauma of the war without retraumatization of participants. The conductor will focus on the importance of dream play, with the symbolic elaboration to avoid to play traumatic life memories that can retraumatized the protagonist and the group members. Dreams convey the transformative wisdom of the unconscious, allowing emotionally charged material to become easy accessible to the consciousness, activating intrapsychic and intersubjective change. The group will take place within a ritualistic framework, creating a safe space to advance personal and social healing in the collective trauma. Rituals are therapeutic with their capacity to hold and contain the group anxiety and elaborate the group collective trauma. In the workshop would be presented some imaginative and creative techniques that are used in the model of Jungian Psychodrama. Jungian psychodrama is a theory of psychodramatic technique, articulated in a complex model of conduction and observation. It derives from Jung’s analytical theory on dreams, from his concepts of the personal and collective unconsciousness, of archetypal images and individuation. The conductor will demonstrate the dream incubation technique according to the ancient medicine of Asclepion and the utilization of opening and closing rituals. Some dreams will be played to discover our destiny in the night of humanity, according to the Jungian model in which different protagonists play on the scene every session. After the final sharing, there will be a narrative observation which will communicate the sense of the dreams which have been played, using a narrative style. It will enrich the plays with mythopoeic amplifications and will try to connect individual themes to the group’s collective unconsciousness.

Maurizio Gasseau, was born in Rome, Associate Professor of Dynamic Psychology at the University of Aosta. Jungian analyst, onorary member of ARPA member of International Association of Analytic Psychology IAAP, certified psychotherapist and psychodramatist in Italy as well as leader of training groups all over the world. Founder of Mediterranean Association of Psychodrama. His main interests are researching dreams interpretations in individual analysis and in psychodrama and group psychotherapy, social dreaming matrix, and working on trangenerational topics and trauma. He developed the Jungian Psychodrama method and theory in 1980 and Psychodramatic Social Dreaming in 2004. Chair of the Training of Postgraduate School of Psychotherapy IPAP – Institute of Analytical Psychology and Psychotherapy. Trainer in the Junghian psychodrama Association Alì Babaouglu. Board member IAGP 2003 - 2012 and 2015 - 2025. Topic: Childwork/Childplay: Psychodrama and Sociodrama in Children's Groups

Psychodrama and sociodrama help facilitate the healing of wounded and traumatized children. The focus of this workshop will be on group work with children, ages six through twelve, who are victims of abandonment, displacement, physical and/or sexual abuse and domestic violence. This highly interactive workshop will offer ways to use experiential methods to help distressed and traumatized children find ways to regulate their emotional state. Specific action structures that create the necessary safe space that allows children to tell their stories, express strong feelings and find new roles will be demonstrated. Attention will be paid to the distinction between psychodrama and sociodrama and when to best use each. Participants will be introduced to the use of the psychodramatic and sociodramatic empty chair, the use of multiple doubles, structures such an inner and outer circle, and the use of fantasy figures to create safety and encourage expression. Group members will have the opportunity to learn ways to use sociodramatic techniques in working with stories. The importance of ritual and rules for creating safety will be addressed.
