Hair transplant techniques differ in terms of application method and recovery process. In this field, two main techniques are commonly used: FUE and FUT.
In the FUE technique, hair follicles are extracted individually from the donor area and transplanted to the areas in need. Before the procedure, the hair is typically shaved, and after the procedure, there is usually no visible scarring. Due to its minimally invasive nature and relatively comfortable recovery process, it is more commonly preferred today.
In the FUT technique, a strip of tissue is removed from the donor area, and hair transplantation is performed using this strip. In this method, shaving the hair may not always be necessary; however, there is a higher likelihood of scarring after the procedure. Therefore, it involves a different recovery process compared to FUE.
Determining the most suitable technique should not be based solely on the general characteristics of these methods. Factors such as the individual’s hair structure, donor area condition, and expectations must be carefully evaluated. For this reason, the most accurate approach is to create a personalized treatment plan based on a detailed assessment by a specialist.
