🇹🇷46. Türk Ulusal KBB ve Baş Boyun Cerrahisi Kongresi’nde sunumumu gerçekleştirmek, alanımızdaki güncel gelişmeleri tartışmak ve değerli hocalarımız ile meslektaşlarımızla bir araya gelmek benim için büyük bir deneyimdi.
Bilgi alışverişi, yeni bakış açıları ve üzerinde çalışmaya başlayacağımız projeler bana güçlü bir motivasyon kattı.
Katkı sunan, ilham veren tüm hocalarıma ve meslektaşlarıma teşekkür ederim.

🇺🇸I had the opportunity to present my work at the 46th Turkish National Congress of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. It was a valuable experience to discuss current developments in our field and to connect with esteemed professors and colleagues.
The exchange of knowledge, new perspectives, and the projects we started planning together have provided strong motivation for the period ahead.
I would like to thank all professors and colleagues who contributed and offered their insights.

🇹🇷1 yıldır tek taraflı burun akıntısı şikayetiyle farklı merkezlerde tanı konulamayan hastamızda, detaylı incelemeler sonucunda spontan(kendiliğinden) beyin omurilik sıvısı (BOS) kaçağı tespit ettik ve cerrahi onarımını başarıyla gerçekleştirdik.

Bu tür kaçaklar bazen travma sonrası, bazen de kendiliğinden (spontan) gelişebilir. Tanıda dikkatli klinik değerlendirme ve deneyim çok önemlidir.

Operasyon sürecinde, bu konuda tecrübesine güvendiğim Prof. Dr. Erdem Eren ile birlikte çalıştık. Değerli katkısı için kendisine teşekkür ediyorum.

Bu tür durumların tanı ve tedavisi multidisipliner bir ekip çalışması gerektirir. Ekibimize ve emeği geçen herkese teşekkür ederim.

🇺🇲For one year, our patient had been experiencing unilateral nasal discharge and could not be diagnosed at various centers. Following detailed examinations, we identified a spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak and successfully performed its surgical repair.

Such leaks may develop after trauma or sometimes spontaneously. Careful clinical evaluation and experience are very important in diagnosis.

During the operation, I worked together with Prof. Dr. Erdem Eren, whose expertise I greatly trust. I would like to thank him for his valuable contribution.

The diagnosis and treatment of such conditions require a multidisciplinary team effort. I would like to thank our team and everyone who contributed to this success.

🇹🇷Kitap önerisi: Lynn Kelly'den Mavi 55 (Türkçesi Mine Kazmaoğlu)
Bir otolog olarak, özellikle çocuk hastalarımla bağ kurmak için ilham verici hikayeler bulmayı seviyorum. Bu sevimli kitap, hastalarımın birinden gelen bir hediye ve bir çırpıda okudum.
Kitapta İris adında işitme engelli bir kızın hikayesi anlatılıyor. Onun en büyük mutluluğu, bozuk radyoları tamir etmek ve sinyalleri keşfetmek. Bu merakı, onu şarkısı başka balinalar tarafından duyulmayan Mavi 55 adlı balinanın hikayesine götürüyor. Tıpkı İris gibi, Mavi 55 de bazen anlaşılmadığı bir dünyada yolunu bulmaya çalışıyor.
Bu hikaye sadece işitme kaybını değil, bağ kurmayı, empatiyi ve kendi sesini bulmayı da anlatıyor. İşitme zorluğu yaşayan çocuklar ve aileleri için harika bir kitap; ama aslında herkesin okumasını öneririm. Çünkü aslında hepimiz kendi şarkımızı söylüyoruz....

🇺🇲Book Suggestion: Song for a Whale by Lynne Kelly
As an otologist, I love finding ways to connect with my patients, especially children, through stories that celebrate resilience and uniqueness. This wonderful book was a gift from one of my patients, and it touched me.
It follows Iris, a brilliant young girl who has hearing loss. Her joy comes from fixing broken radios and uncovering signals, a passion that leads her to the story of Blue 55, a whale whose song is at a frequency no other whale can hear. Just like Iris, Blue 55 is navigating a world that does not always understand him.
This beautiful story is not only about hearing loss but also about connection, empathy, and finding your own voice in your own way. It is a powerful read for children with hearing challenges and their families, but truly, it is a story for everyone. Because, in fact, we are all singing our own song...
