Prof. Dr. Bülent Ünal, M.D. highlights that incompatibility doesn’t have to be the end of the road. Thanks to crossover transplantation, incompatible donor-recipient pairs can be matched with others in the same situation—creating a chain where each donor helps another patient, and every patient receives a compatible organ.
Compared to long cadaver waiting lists and the higher risks associated with ABO-incompatible procedures, this method offers a smarter, safer, and more efficient pathway to transplantation.

Florence Nightingale Hospital established in 1989 started to service as a small and assertive health center with 50 beds capacity at the beginning, and it was performing 250 open heart surgeries per year.
By the courtesy of the ever-increasing confidence and support of Turkish people and successful work, Florence Nightingale has become a large hospital with 302 beds conforming to international standards and measures, in which more than 2000 open heart surgeries per year couldbe successfully performed.
Avrupa Florence Nightingale Hospital, the second hospital of Group Florence Nightingale, has become one of the major healthcare institutions of Turkey, which served in all branches, including especially pediatrics, dental and maxillofacial surgery, gynecology and ophthalmology.
Gayrettepe Florence Nightingale Hospital and Cancer Center were opened with the participation and coinvestment of American specialists. Now, it’s possible to work together with the most important medical institutions in the United States and make joint consultations and conferences by connecting to these institutions by the telemedicine system.
In 2006, we opened Kadıköy Florence Nightingale Hospital on Bagdat Street in Anatolian side of Istanbul and, in 2013, we opened the first green hospital with 219 beds of Turkey and the region.
