Dire Straits’in müzisyenliği ve sade havalı tarzıyla efsaneleşen şarkısı “Sultans of Swing”, 19 Mayıs 1978’de resmen yayımlandı. Ancak bu parça, özellikle Nisan 1996’da gerçekleşen Mark Knopfler’ın “A Night in London” performansı sırasında yeni bir boyut kazandı. Şarkı sona yaklaşırken Knopfler, son dakikaları bir gitar ustalık sınıfına dönüştürerek yavaşça yükselen, görkemli bir outro solosu başlattı.
Bu akıcı, etkileyici ve duygu dolu solo, bir klasiği yüce (transcendent) bir şeye dönüştürerek, sanatçının o dönem “canlı olarak gördüğümüz en harika gitar outro sololarından birini rahatça sergilediği” an olarak kayıtlara geçti. Solo, Knopfler’ın yıllar içinde tanındığı derinliği ve nüansı gözler önüne serdi.
