🦷 DENTAL FLOSS: Invisible to the Eye, But One of the Most Powerful Tools Protecting Your Dental Health
For years, the majority of my patients either never use dental floss or only remember it when something gets stuck between their teeth.
But remember this:
👉 Your toothbrush cleans tooth surfaces, but dental floss protects between your teeth. And a huge portion of tooth decay starts precisely in these "invisible areas."
🔹 Why is flossing so important?
✔️ It cleans plaque and food particles from areas your toothbrush can't reach.
✔️ It prevents gum inflammation (gingivitis).
✔️ It reduces bad breath.
✔️ It slows tartar formation.
✔️ It's indispensable for people with crowns, implants, or orthodontic braces.
🔹 How should you use it properly?
Cut approximately 12–16 inches of floss.
Wrap around both hands and guide with your thumbs.
Gently insert between teeth.
Wrap in a C-shape around both tooth surfaces and move up and down.
If there's bleeding, don't stop—this indicates unhealthy gums and will improve over time.
👨⚕️ Speaking from experience:
By dedicating just 2 minutes daily, you can prevent dozens of cavities, inflammations, and even tooth loss.
✨ Dental floss is a small but highly effective part of your oral care routine. Start today and protect your smile.
