While the focus for many this February is the road for the Carnival Season, let’s take a 1-minute breather to remember your eyes and their safety.
Between dust, makeup, glitter, face paint, contact lenses, and extended time outdoors, the eyes can easily become irritated.
Rubbing eyes with unwashed hands, sharing makeup, or wearing lenses for longer than recommended can increase the risk of redness, dryness, and infection. Sun exposure and dehydration can also contribute to discomfort and blurred vision.
Simple precautions go a long way.
Keep your hands clean, avoid sharing eye makeup, take breaks from contact lenses when possible, and protect your eyes with sunglasses during daytime events.
If irritation develops, resist the urge to self-treat with random drops and make sure that persistent redness, pain, or discharge is always checked by a professional!
