Last night we took our two French work exchange students Alizee and Marin to meet the new French Ambassador to T&T His Excellency Mr. Guillaume Pierre, who also happens to be a childhood friend of mine π
His family lived in Trinidad for a few years when we were children, and we all became very close friends in the time they spent here, and have kept in regular contact up until the present with his surprise appointment here as Ambassador! π¨π΅πΉπΉ
It's amazing to have him and his lovely wife Emek and their two sons here in Trinidad for the next few years, and what a surreal experience to have him return to Trinidad in this way βΊοΈ
His mom and siblings will be coming to Trinidad to visit him, so it will be amazing to see this family again in the same place we all met in so long ago.
Life has a way of giving you such beautiful gifts when you least expect them π€
What a fabulous opportunity also for our two French students to be immersed in both of our cultures at the same time, in one of the remaining grand, old houses of Trinidad, with ancient, mangrove-like trees guarding the beautiful entrance inside.
C'est la vie! ππ
