Seizures can happen without warning. Awareness can make all the difference.

Today is World Purple Day, dedicated to increasing understanding of epilepsy and supporting those living with it.

Epilepsy is a neurological condition that affects how the brain works. It can impact children, adults, and families in ways that are often misunderstood. Many people still face stigma—but knowledge helps change that.

Knowing what to do during a seizure can protect a life.
Stay calm.
Keep the person safe from harm.
Turn them gently onto their side.
Do not put anything in their mouth.
Time the seizure and seek medical help if it lasts longer than a few minutes.
