Breaking the "Age 8" Myth in Vision Care! 👁️✨

We are thrilled to share that our optometrists, Lesley Phillips and Niall Farnon, were invited speakers at the Trinidad and Tobago Optometrists Association (TTOA) annual conference this past weekend! 🎤

They presented exciting findings on how vision training is changing lives for patients of all ages—not just children.

Many adults have been told that after age 8, there’s "nothing that can be done" for a weak eye or an eye turn. We’re here to tell you that isn't true anymore! Whether you’re looking to improve your performance at work or simply want to see the world more clearly, the future of vision training is here.

Do you struggle with a weak eye or feel like your vision is holding you back? Don't wait for "someday." Modern techniques mean it is never too late to improve how your eyes work together.

Send us a message to book your appointment at EyeCare360!

🚨 Trinidad & Tobago, we now have access to one of the most advanced lens technologies in the world.

At EyeCare360 by TOC, we are proud to offer next-generation progressive lens technology powered by virtual reality and real-time eye tracking.

This isn’t standard dispensing.
This is precision vision engineering.

👁️ Using immersive technology, we measure how your eyes and head move naturally in real-world conditions—then design lenses that match your visual behaviour.

✨ The result:
✔ Wider, more natural fields of vision
✔ Minimal distortion and “swim”
✔ Faster adaptation
✔ A truly personalised visual experience

💡 This level of technology is not widely available—and for many patients, it’s something they’ve never experienced before.

Now, it’s available right here in Trinidad.
And it’s available at EyeCare360.

Yesterday, we proudly celebrated Rock Your Socks Day — a global movement that raises awareness and celebrates individuals with Down Syndrome 💙🧦

Those bright, mismatched socks aren’t just fun — they’re a symbol of inclusion, individuality, and the beauty of seeing the world differently.

At EyeCare360, this message is especially meaningful to us. Patients with Down Syndrome are more likely to experience eye and vision conditions, including:
• Refractive errors (often higher prescriptions)
• Accommodative difficulties
• Strabismus (eye turn)
• Keratoconus
• Increased risk of cataracts

The reality is simple: clear, comfortable vision plays a critical role in learning, development, and quality of life.

Yet many of these conditions can go undetected without regular, thorough eye examinations.

That’s why we take extra time, extra care, and a patient-first approach — ensuring every individual is assessed in a way that is gentle, thorough, and tailored to their needs.

👁️ Start a conversation about inclusion.

📅 And remember — proactive eyecare can make a lifelong difference.

👁️ Patient education is at the heart of what we do at EyeCare360!

That’s why we add extra time to our eye exams—so you always have the space to ask questions about your eyes.

But we know questions don’t always happen during your appointment. Sometimes they pop up after you leave, or you might want to ask before your visit.

That’s why tonight we’re thrilled to launch AskAboutYourEyes.com— the first website where anyone can ask questions about their eyes completely anonymously.

Whether it’s:
-blurry vision
-eye strain from screens
-contact lens tips
-children’s vision
-red or irritated eyes
-flashes and floaters
-myopia management
-binocular vision

…you can ask any question, anytime, and get answers from our team of licenced optometrists.

👀 Are your eyes still red and irritated after your night out last night?

It might not just be the late night…
It could actually be your eye makeup!

Products like mascara, eyeliner, and glitter shadows sit extremely close to the eye and can sometimes irritate the delicate surface of the eye—especially if worn for long hours or not removed properly.

Here’s something many people don’t realise:

🇪🇺 In Europe, over 1,600 cosmetic ingredients are banned because of safety concerns. In our region, far fewer ingredients are restricted. That means some products on the market may contain ingredients that are not always ideal for sensitive eyes.

When makeup is used close to the eyes every day, certain ingredients, preservatives, or even tiny particles from glitter can lead to:

• Redness
• Burning or stinging
• Watery eyes
• Eyelid irritation
• Recurrent styes

✨ The good news? There are better options.

At EyeCare360, we exclusively stock eye-friendly makeup designed specifically for people with sensitive eyes, dry eyes, and contact lens wearers.

Because when it comes to products used around your eyes…
where better to get your eye makeup than somewhere that focuses on eyes every single day?

Our eye-friendly products are formulated to be:
✔ Gentle around the eyes
✔ Less irritating to the tear film
✔ Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers

Beauty should never come at the expense of eye health.

If your eyes often feel irritated after wearing makeup, it may be time to review the products you’re using.

World Glaucoma Day – Protect Your Sight!

Glaucoma is known as the “silent thief of sight” because it can slowly damage vision without early symptoms!

Many people don’t realise they have glaucoma until permanent vision loss has already occurred!

At EyeCare360, our comprehensive eye exams check for early signs of glaucoma using advanced technology.

✔ Eye pressure testing ✔ Optic nerve assessment ✔ Retinal imaging ✔ OCT scans ✔ Visual Field Testing

Do You Know Your Risk?
You may be at higher risk if you:
* Are over 40
* Have a family history of glaucoma
* Have diabetes
* Have high eye pressure
* Are of African or Caribbean descent

Early detection is key.
Regular eye examinations can help protect your vision.

If you fall into one of these risk groups, regular eye exams are essential.

Something exciting is coming to EyeCare360… 👓✨

We’ve just had a sneak preview of a completely new progressive lens design — created using some of the latest optical technology available today.

What does this mean to you?
For many people who need progressive lenses, the biggest concern is adapting to them comfortably. This new generation of lenses has been specifically designed to make the adaptation smoother, more natural, and easier for everyday life — whether you’re reading, working on a computer, or looking across the room.

Even more exciting, EyeCare360 will be the first clinic in the English-speaking Caribbean to introduce this new technology!

We’re currently preparing to bring it to you very soon. We believe it has the potential to make progressive lenses more comfortable and more intuitive than ever before!

👁️ Stay tuned — we’ll be sharing more details soon about this exciting advancement in vision technology.

Today, in advance of tomorrow, we proudly celebrate International Women’s Day and the incredible strength, leadership, and achievements of women everywhere. 💜

As a woman-owned business, we are especially grateful for the many women who support, inspire, and grow alongside us every day.

To mark the occasion, we are sharing a small token of appreciation with our patients and visitors — complimentary muffins — as a sweet way to say thank you for being part of our community.

We were delighted to celebrate with two inspiring, accomplished professional women who visited us today. Their dedication and success remind us how important it is to recognise and uplift the contributions women make in every field.

We also celebrated with two wonderful young sisters celebrating the day with us. They represent the bright future of the next generation of women who will lead, innovate, and shape the world ahead.

Today we celebrate the women who inspire us, and the girls who will carry that inspiration forward.
