Listen we all love a good glam but removing makeup PROPERLY after events is so so important. Makeup residue left on the skin can lead to breakouts and clogged pores and it’s important to remove your makeup after a day/night out.

Here are some of our favourite makeup removal tips.💋💄😶‍🌫️

Double Cleanse!! 🫧🧼
Especially when wearing heavier foundations/ concealers, double cleansing helps to ensure all impurities and makeup are properly broken down and rinsed off. Use a cleansing oil or cleansing balm first (step 1) and your favourite facial cleanser second (step 2)

Use a gentle toner ✨💫
A toner on a cotton pad removes any residue on the face and prepares the skin to absorb important serums and moisturizers.

Moisturize 🧴
After cleansing the face properly, moisturizer is important to calm the skin and replenish hydration and moisture to the skin’s surface.

DO NOT sleep with makeup on!!⚠️
Sleeping with makeup on leads to breakouts and clogged pores. Especially if you’re acne-proned this is a no no!

Facials can also go a long way to deep cleaning your pores and giving you a clean slate if you’ve been attending a lot of events where you’ve had to wear makeup generally. It’s always a great feeling to have a fresh start on your skin🥰❤️

Ingrowns occur as a result of hair becoming trapped within a hair follicle as opposed to growing out of the skin’s surface. Most commonly, ingrowns occur on areas that are shaved often.⁣

Tips for Prevention of Ingrown Hairs ⬇️⁣
⁣
✅ Using a mild toner after shaving can reduce pore size, add moisture to the skin and reduce bacteria within hair follicles. Toning also exfoliates dead skin cells.⁣
⁣
✅ Shave in the same direction your hair is growing - this reduces the tendency for hair to become trapped under the skin’s surface.⁣
⁣
✅ After shaving, ensure the skin is well moisturized to reduce irritation from blades. An oil free, non-comedogenic moisturizer is best.⁣

1) Chemical peels and microdermabrasion are two procedures that help to improve ingrowns as well as scarring caused by ingrowns.⁣
