I wanted to let those of you following this page as well as my other business page – that I will be closing them down within the next couple weeks. Earlier this year I had closed my IG account for my Apotheca business as well.
I, like many other small businesses, must create content, curate other content, design graphics and then share. I don't post basic psychology content either - I am very wholistic and well-read so I can post beyond the ordinary - yet that is not what the audience seems to want - or what they are being allowed to see. Or may not have the time to delve into. Psychology pervades everything – so everything influences us: history, art, music, literature, the environment, business, commerce, health, technology, feminism, sky events and more. All of which I post and many times they are not seen or read. I can tell from my analytics. Honestly, social media has never actually garnered me a sale or a client. Of course, I have had many an inquiry to which I responded – but my presence on here (though welcomed and appreciated) – takes quite a bit out of me.
I also am not the woman who will see what is trending and go that route just to gain views.
The Meta algorithms for IG and FB requires me to post several times daily and that doesn’t convert into you viewing anything I’d like to share with you. I have work to do – real people who require guidance and people who need their blends. I do not have the time to create the amount of content to post and then add to my social media manager in the hopes that folks will read, learn and gain something.
This has led me to believe that my particular type of business can continue to thrive without social media. That makes me happy. Why? It means more room and time for all the other creative stuff I love and enjoy – and if you know me – all my bones are creative!
And I need more silence. The world is noisy and Trinidad and Tobago has an extra-special noise that is deafeningly discordant.
So, what to do? You are welcome to sign-up for my newsletter as that usually has content that people have enjoyed over the years https://bit.ly/rwaemail .
Thank you to those of you who have reacted to my work on here! Many of you I know well, so this is certainly not “goodbye”!
I wish everyone a good holiday season and a brilliant 2022. Please keep your wits about you as you continue to move through the pandemic, our country and your lives.
