A Cross-Pacific Story of Trust — and a Birthday to Remember🎉🎉🎉

In mid-November, the patient’s family in Guam sent me a message for the first time.
The local doctor suggested they come to Taiwan, and mentioned that if they chose another place for treatment, they might have to wait another 2–3 months.
But his condition could not wait.

So they chose Taiwan.
His first medical trip here, his first time at CMUH.

With our specialized cardiac equipment, full medical team, and fast coordination,
we completed all examinations within days, identified the issue, and provided the critical treatment he needed—without delay.

And here’s the part we’ll never forget:
The treatment day happened to be his birthday.

We prepared a small birthday celebration for him.
Far from home, yet surrounded by care.

Today, he walked out safe, healthy, and smiling.
We are truly grateful that Taiwan could be the place they trusted at the most crucial moment.

Building trust, one patient at a time.

✨寫下這十年，是因為有些故事不能遺失✨

上週分享厚生勞動省的邀請後，
很多朋友問我：「妳為什麼想出這本書？」

我想了一下，答案其實很簡單——
因為有些故事，如果不寫下來，就會被時間帶走。

這十年，我在國際醫療的前線，看見很多跨越國界的溫度。
有人帶著希望來到台灣，有人因為一句話願意跨海求醫，
也看見我們的團隊在語言、文化與制度之間努力接住每一個生命。

我想把這些點滴寫下來，
不是為了記錄我自己，
而是希望透過真實的案例，
讓更多人看見台灣醫療在世界舞台上默默做的事——
那份專業、那份堅持、那份溫度。

在後疫情時代，醫療已不只是一個專業，
它牽起的是國與國、人與人之間的信任。
而台灣在其中所展現的力量，是值得被看見的。

寫這本書的另一個原因，是想鼓勵那些在人生路上努力的人：
信念會帶你走到你想不到的地方。
我不是最快、也不是資源最多的人，
但我願意一步一步把事情做好，
而這十年，就是這樣慢慢走出來的。

目前初稿已累積將近七萬字，
如果有出版社願意協助我，
把這份十年的記錄整理成一本真正能被閱讀、被感受的書，我會非常感謝。📖🌿

✨〈十年國際醫療工作的肯定，來自日本厚生勞動省〉✨

這兩天收到一份讓我非常感動的邀請——
日本**厚生勞動省（Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Japan）**正式邀請我，
在他們主辦的全國性研討會上，
向日本各地醫療與觀光相關單位分享
我們醫院推動國際醫療十年來的經驗與成果。

更特別的是，
我們是台灣唯一受邀請的醫院。
這對我來說，不只是榮耀，
也是對這十年努力的一份肯定。

這十年間，我記錄下將近七萬字的故事——
關於病人、關於團隊、關於信任與遠行。
這份紀錄原本只是我一個人的「國際醫療札記」，
如今，也將在日本厚生勞動省的講壇上揭開序幕。

我希望，這些故事能讓更多人看見，
台灣在國際醫療領域所展現的專業與溫度。

接下來，我會持續整理這些內容，
也希望能引起出版社的興趣，
讓這段旅程能夠化成文字，被更多人閱讀與感受。

🌿💛 Keringkam — A Gift of Friendship and Heritage 💛🌿

I’m deeply touched by this beautiful gift from UNIMAS Hospital Sarawak — the Keringkam, a traditional Sarawak Malay hand-embroidered headscarf delicately woven with gold thread. ✨

The Keringkam symbolizes grace, honor, and heritage — and to me, it also represents the deep friendship and meaningful partnership between UNIMAS and CMUH.
