【我們來是為了幫助烏克蘭，但烏克蘭卻改變了我們。】 🇺🇦🇹🇼
這是一段跨越九千公里的生命對話。馬偕國際醫療中心蔡維德主任，在第七次帶領團隊踏上烏克蘭土地時，感性分享了這段心路歷程。
當年的馬偕博士（George Leslie Mackay）跨越海洋來到台灣，在最有需要的地方扎根。如今，馬偕團隊追隨他的腳步，來到了戰火中的烏克蘭 。
蔡主任回憶起第三次任務時，在尼古拉耶夫（Mykolaiv）經歷了清晨五點的飛彈襲擊。在驚心動魄的撤離後，他原以為團隊會因為恐懼而退縮，甚至做好了「這是最後一趟」的心理準備 。
#然而，團隊成員的回答卻讓他深深震撼：「我們想再回來。」
這不只是醫療援助，更是一場關於勇氣的學習：
✨ 看見韌性：我們在當地民眾與醫護身上，看見了無與倫比的勇敢與冷靜。他們無處可逃，卻依然堅守崗位，這份生命韌性反過來療癒了我們 。

「我們不只是來給予，更多的是來學習如何成為一個更強壯、更成熟的人。」蔡主任說道 。

首位來自帛琉活體換肝手術成功個案，由兒子捐肝給媽媽，馬偕團隊各部門盡心照顧，病人恢復往日氣色與健康，今日由林俊昌主任主持記者會。

公共關係室準備代表重生的生日蛋糕🎂，國際醫療中心全體一同祝福病人平安健康🌹

這次手術的最大挑戰來自跨國協調與醫療資源整合。活體肝臟移植手術需精密的術前評估、完整手術團隊、專業設備及術後細心的照護。展現了國際醫療合作的高度效率與成果。

這成功活體換肝手術個案，是醫院跨團隊合作努力的卓越成果，這不僅展示了國際醫療合作的成效，也代表即使在醫療資源有限的國家，高階醫療服務仍可實現，改善當地的醫療可近性。同時再次展現台灣的醫療軟實力。

First Successful Living Donor Liver Transplant Case from Palau: Son Donates Liver to Mother, Demonstrating Cross-Border Medical CooperationThe first successful living donor liver transplant case from Palau, in which a son donated part of his liver to his mother, has been completed with dedicated care from all departments of the Mackay medical team. The patient has recovered her vitality and health. Today, Dr. Lin Jun-Chang, Senior Attending Physician of the Department of General Surgery, hosted a press conference.

The Public Relations Office specially prepared a birthday cake symbolizing rebirth, and the entire International Medical Services Center staff joined together to wish the patient peace and good health.

The greatest challenge of this surgery came from cross-border coordination and medical resource integration. Living donor liver transplant surgery requires meticulous preoperative evaluation, a complete surgical team, professional equipment, and careful postoperative care, fully demonstrating the high efficiency and excellent results of international medical cooperation.This successful living donor liver transplant case represents the outstanding achievement of the hospital's cross-team collaborative efforts.

It not only demonstrates the effectiveness of international medical cooperation but also shows that even in countries with limited medical resources, advanced medical services can still be realized through international cooperation, effectively improving local healthcare accessibility while once again showcasing Taiwan's soft power in healthcare.

🇨🇿跨越9000公里的友誼🇹🇼

在一個風光明媚的3/20週五，很榮幸能接待捷克前外交部長暨現任眾議院 Jan Lipavský 蒞臨拜會本院，馬偕則由本院張文瀚總院長、急診謝尙霖主任、馬偕醫務管理部暨國際醫療中心蔡維德主任、徐宛蒂副主任及國際醫療中心同仁一同與會，向馬偕x捷克的友誼開啟一個格外愉快的開始。

會談輕鬆歡快，充斥著諸多歡聲笑語，利帕夫斯基閣下不費吹灰之力，讓會談保持在一個愉快的氛圍，甚至邀請馬偕能夠多多去捷克旅遊，張總院長也大力稱讚布拉格是個非常美好的城市。不得不提到，張總院長熱烈地介紹致贈禮品時，一時之間忘記了攝影時間，讓利帕夫斯基閣下努力地想讓張院長抬頭看看鏡頭，片段十分有趣。

🇨🇿 Přátelství překonávající 9 000 kilometrů 🇹🇼

March 20th, on a beautiful, sunny Friday, we had the distinct honor of welcoming Jan Lipavský—former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and current Member of Parliament—to our hospital✨

Our delegation was led by Superintendent Wen-Han Chang, joined by Director Shang-Lin Hsieh of the Emergency Department, Director Wei-Te Tsai and Deputy Director Wan-Ti Hsu of the Department of Medical Administration and International Medical Center, along with our international team. Together, we marked a joyful and meaningful beginning to the friendship between MacKay Memorial Hospital and the Czech Republic.

The meeting unfolded in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere, filled with laughter throughout. Minister Lipavský effortlessly kept the conversation engaging and pleasant, even warmly inviting our team to visit the Czech Republic. Superintendent Chang also spoke highly of Prague, praising it as a truly beautiful city.

One especially delightful moment you cannot miss, occurred during the gift presentation, when Superintendent Chang became so engaged in his gift introduction that he momentarily forgot about the photo session—prompting Minister Lipavský to gently remind him to look toward the camera, creating a lighthearted and memorable scene.😆

🌴 從加勒比海飛來的貴客，今天降落馬偕！
聖文森及格瑞那丁副總理李柯克率團專程來訪，從踏進大門的那一刻起，我們就知道——這不只是一次參觀，而是一場跨越大洋的醫療情誼！
從電梯到會議室、從簡報到交換禮物，短短幾個小時裡，雙方聊了好多：怎麼建醫院、怎麼訓練醫療人員、怎麼把病歷從紙本變成數位⋯⋯說到麻醉科人力不足、糖尿病和腎臟病的照護需求，兩邊都卯起來討論！
馬偕從2017年起就和聖文森是老朋友了 🤝

🌴 A special guest flew all the way from the Caribbean — and landed right at MacKay!
Deputy Prime Minister St. Clair Leacock of St. Vincent and the Grenadines led a delegation to visit us today, and from the moment they walked through our doors, we knew — this wasn't just a visit. This was a medical friendship across the ocean! 🌊
From the elevator ride up to the conference room, from the presentations to the gift exchange, so much was packed into just a few hours: how to build a hospital, how to train medical staff, how to take healthcare records from paper to digital... When the conversation turned to the shortage of anesthesiologists and the urgent needs in diabetes, kidney disease, and cancer care — both sides had plenty to say!
MacKay and St. Vincent go way back — friends since 2017 🤝
✅ 56 medical professionals trained in Taiwan
✅ Over 500 emergency responders trained on the ground in SVG
✅ Continued participation in the Lesser Antilles Medical Assistance Team (LAMAT) missions
And the Deputy Prime Minister didn't hold back — he said he hopes to establish an annual medical exchange mechanism with MacKay. Looks like this friendship is here to stay! 🌏

烏克蘭城市代表團參訪馬偕紀念醫院

來自烏克蘭多個城市的市長與市政代表團於3月16日參訪馬偕紀念醫院，與院方就智慧醫療、醫療體系及城市健康發展進行交流。

近年來，馬偕紀念醫院持續與烏克蘭夥伴並肩合作。自2023年起，馬偕醫療團多次前往烏克蘭各城市，與當地醫療團隊共同推動行動門診、牙科服務、衛生教育與醫師交流計畫，為當地民眾提供醫療支持，也在戰火之中傳遞醫療與人道關懷。

秉持創院者馬偕博士「哪裡有需要，就往哪裡去」的精神，馬偕醫院持續與烏克蘭朋友同行。此次參訪不僅促進醫療與城市發展的交流，也讓跨越距離的情誼更加深厚。

On March 16, a delegation of mayors and municipal leaders from several Ukrainian cities visited Mackay Memorial Hospital during their participation in the 2026 Smart City Summit & Expo and Net-Zero City Expo, exchanging views on healthcare systems, smart medicine, and urban health development.

In recent years, Mackay Memorial Hospital has continued to work closely with its Ukrainian partners. Since 2023, Mackay medical teams have traveled to multiple Ukrainian cities, working alongside local healthcare professionals to provide mobile clinics, dental services, public health education, and physician exchange programs—delivering medical care and humanitarian support during challenging times.

Guided by the spirit of its founder, Dr. George Leslie Mackay — “Where there is need, there I will go” — Mackay Memorial Hospital continues to stand with its friends in Ukraine. This visit not only strengthened exchanges in healthcare and urban development, but also deepened the friendship between Taiwan and Ukraine.
