🦎 “Masters of the Cold Blood: Discovering Reptile Types, Homes, and Adaptations” 🌿

Our young scientists stepped into the incredible world of reptiles—learning, exploring, and having so much fun along the way!

✨ What we explored:�• 🧠 Animal classifications & what makes reptiles unique�• 🥚 Oviparous vs. viviparous animals�• ❄️ Understanding cold-blooded creatures�• 🐍 Scaly skin & fascinating anatomy (with X-ray exploration!)�• 🏃‍♂️ How reptiles slither, crawl, and swim�• 🌿 Amazing adaptations like camouflage�• 🌍 Building habitats: desert, wetland, forest & rocky areas�• 🔄 Life cycles of turtles & snakes (egg → hatchling → juvenile → adult)�• 🦖 Discovering extinct reptiles like dinosaurs

🎃👻 Welcome to the BOO-seum! 👻🎃

Our classroom transformed into a spooky museum of monsters from around the world — witches brewed potions, vampires made bloody slime, and mummies got wrapped while we learned the secrets of mummification! 🧙‍♀️🧛‍♂️🧻

From scooping out brain Jell-O 🧠, building a Frankenstein coloring robot ⚡️, to exploring Kappa’s mysterious pond 🐸💧 — it was a hauntingly fun adventure!

And of course, no monster day is complete without tasty treats! 🍪 The kids whipped up some delicious monster cookies to end our frightfully fantastic day! 👩‍🍳🕸️

💧🌍 Water Wonders: From Cloud to Tap 🚰✨

This week our little scientists explored the incredible journey of water—how it cycles through nature and makes its way into our homes! 🌦️

☁️ Our little “rain clouds” made it pour in class as we brought the water cycle to life. 🌦️
🌾 The kids prepared a tiny rice paddy, planting rice seedlings and watching how water keeps the field alive—just like little farmers! 👩‍🌾👨‍🌾💧
🚰 The highlight? Discovering how water travels to our taps: from rivers → reservoirs → home tanks → and finally into our sinks, showers & bottles. Kids also learned how wastewater leaves our homes and re-enters the cycle. 🔄

🧪 With a filtration experiment, we explored how clean water is made safe to drink—layer by layer, jar by jar.

A refreshing week where every drop told a story—reminding us that water is life, and every cycle counts! 💧🌟

🇻🇳 Discovering Vietnam: From Rice Fields to Spring Rolls! 🇻🇳

🌟 This week, we took an exciting journey to Vietnam, exploring the culture, farming traditions, and delicious cuisine of this vibrant country. Here’s a glimpse of what our young adventurers learned:

🗺️ Explore Vietnam: We started by finding Vietnam on the map, learning about its flag 🇻🇳 and the stunning lotus flower 🪷 that represents this beautiful land.

🧑🏽‍🌾Vietnam’s Farming Culture: The kids discovered the art of rice farming, from lush paddies to the different types of rice 🍚 used in everyday meals. 🍉

🌾 Harvest Fun: They learned about Vietnam’s fresh fruits and fragrant herbs like Lemongrass, Cilantro, Mexican coriander, Thai Basil, Basil, Mint, Fennel, Lime, Persicaria odorata （Laksa Leaf), all while role-playing in a bustling Vietnamese market 🛒.

📍Hands-on Cooking: The grand finale was making rice spring rolls (gỏi cuốn) 🥢! Our mini chefs gathered ingredients and rolled their own delicious creations, getting a taste of Vietnam’s culinary wonders.

This week was filled with fun, learning, and tasty adventures! Let’s keep exploring and cooking together! 🚀🍜

✅Thailand Adventure - A Journey to the Land of Smiles! 🥥

🌟 This week, we whisked our young adventurers away to the vibrant world of Thailand! Join us as we explore this beautiful country‘s culture and natural wonders:

🗺️ Map Mastery: The kids pinpointed Thailand on the map and dressed up in colorful traditional outfits, embracing the rich heritage of Thai culture.
🍽️ Thai Delights: They discovered the flavors of Thai cuisine, tasting delicious mango sticky rice 🥭, and exploring exotic herbs like
- Thai Ginger, Thai Basil, Lemongrass, Coriander seeds, Turmeric, Chilies

along with tropical fruits such as
- Longan, Bananas, Jackfruit, and Pineapple.

📍 Hands-on Activities

Our little explorers dove into a variety of interactive experiences! They explored bustling floating markets 🛶, discovering the vibrant sights and sounds of Thai commerce.

They also learned about Thailand’s unique wildlife and the importance of wildlife sanctuaries, and marveled at stunning Thai temples. The excitement peaked with a vibrant Thai Festival Parade, celebrating the splashy Songkran Water Festival 🔫.

✅ McDonald: Mini Managers! 🍔

This week, our kids dived into the world of McDonald’s and learned all about fast food magic! 🍟 They discovered what makes a fast food chain and the power of branding. 🏷️

👨‍🍳 They met various McDonald’s workers: cashiers, kitchen staff, store managers, and drive-thru operators.
🖥️ They practiced ordering like pros at the counter, self-order kiosks, drive-thru, and even customized their burgers, including vegan options.
🍳 The kids stepped into the kitchen, discovering ingredients and how everything is prepared while role playing as McDonald’s mini staff, understanding different job roles

👩‍🍳 The kids explored
- The history of McDonald’s
- Learned about managing a chain store
- Discovered strategies for business growth
- Market analysis
- Customer service.
🏪 Further designing their own brand/store, making logos and came up with unique marketing strategies.

✅ Exploring Elements and Flavors: The Fun Side of Kitchen 🧪

This week we took a dive into the enchanting world of kitchen chemistry with our little ones! From taste-testing adventures to food element scavenger hunts, our children are on a culinary journey like never before!

From PH testing to food reactions, we turned MLK into a hub of hands-on experiments. 🔬
But that‘s not all! Our little culinary explorers are also delving into the nutritional side of things, analysing food labels, and creating their own flavour extracts. They’re whipping up tasty treats while understanding the science behind every bite.

And the excitement doesn‘t stop there!
Our little chefs are taking on cooking challenges, creating dishes while unraveling the secrets of emulsions, leavening agents, and more.

✅ The brain's little helpers / Neurotransmission

This week we focused on the “control centre” of our bodies- the brain ! 🧠

We dissected each part of the brain which helped the children understand what activities are primarily controlled by which part of their heads. We also discussed the concept of being either analytical or creative and how certain parts of our brain would be stimulated more when engaged in activities that require either skill. 🤓

The children participated in various experiments that encouraged sensory exploration while being able to see (through a virtual simulation) how this information is being communicated and understood. We explored how our brain can deteriorate over time and the contributing factors to different brain illnesses. We explored brain health in various ways such as through food, habits and even through the chemicals our brain naturally secretes learning how to take care of our brains! 💡

✅ I'm a Fashionista / Fashion evolution

This week we uncovered the evolution of fashion while incorporating the influence Barbie had in our culture and in fashion. Beginning with the initial stages of the clothing production chain, we investigated how materials are sourced and dyed to create fabric.💡

The children were able to attempt dyeing cloth that varies in texture and create patterns. We also incorporated important skills in our classes such as sewing and embroidery where the children were able to practice different stitching techniques and styles 🪡🧵

Within our IB classes we looked into the world of Barbie and the children debated on whether Barbie was limiting girls or paving a way of equality in genders. We taught design and how we can make our ideas come to life then modelling them in mini fashion shows.👗👚🧥
