Since the United Nations launched the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in 2015, organizations around the world have been working to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). TIHTC was pleased to co-host and support the visit of 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗮 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲 (𝗚𝗦𝗖) consultants — Ms. Maja Van Bruggen and Mr. Ryan Crowder — to Taipei Hospital, Ministry of Health and Welfare. They were accompanied by Former Minister Dr. Chiu Tai-Yuan and Dr. Ming-Nan Lin, Deputy Executive Director of the Hospital and Social Welfare Organizations Administration Commission, Ministry of Health and Welfare.

During the exchange, Taipei Hospital presented a diverse range of ESG practices and sustainability achievements, and TIHTC was honored to be part of the discussions:

Showcasing how used medical consumables — including syringes, sealing caps, and tubing — are repurposed into pens, massage balls, desk mats, and garbage bags.
🌱 𝗟𝗼𝘄-𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 & 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀
Featuring EV charging stations, green landscaping, PET bottle recycling machines, and other environmentally friendly facilities that support a low-carbon hospital ecosystem.
🏥 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Visitors explored the Smart Nursing Station and Smart Pharmacy to see how digital innovations contribute to patient safety, workflow optimization, and higher-quality care.

Former Minister Dr. Chiu commended Taipei Hospital’s achievements in ESG and encouraged Taiwan’s healthcare institutions to continue embracing green, low-carbon, and smart hospital development.

The GSC consultants likewise expressed strong appreciation for the hospital’s efforts and looked forward to future collaboration.

🌏✨ 𝗧𝗜𝗛𝗧𝗖 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 – 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿

This month, our trainees enjoyed a wonderful cultural day trip to Keelung, Taiwan’s northernmost port city! 🇹🇼🌊

The journey was filled with beautiful coastal scenery, rich cultural impressions, and amazing local flavors.
We visited several well-known landmarks, including:
📍 𝗛𝗲𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 – stunning seaside landscapes and unique geological formations
📍 𝗬𝗶𝗻𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗲𝗮 – the dramatic contrast of golden and deep blue waters
📍 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗮 𝗥𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 – remarkable wind- and wave-carved rock structures
📍 𝗭𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗯𝗶𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗿 – the iconic row of colorful houses by the water

For lunch, we enjoyed a delicious seafood meal at a friendly local restaurant, where the owners warmly welcomed our group. 🦐🐟

In the evening, everyone explored the vibrant Keelung Night Market, tasting a wide range of Taiwanese street foods and picking up souvenirs to take home. 🎁🍢

In addition to the Keelung trip, our participants also took part in a traditional calligraphy activity, where they learned to write Spring Festival couplets (春聯). 🖌️🎉

It was a fun and meaningful introduction to Taiwanese culture and the spirit of the upcoming Lunar New Year.

👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️The participants bring diverse expertise across the health sector, all committed to strengthening their knowledge in healthcare administration, policy development, and national insurance systems.

Hosted by Taipei Hospital, MOHW, Taiwan International Healthcare Training Center (TIHTC), and Institute of Hospital and Health Care Administration, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, this program aims to deepen global collaboration and share Taiwan’s experience in:
