Simama CBR

Simama CBR Mbeya is a Community Based Rehabilitation Program with the aim to provide high quality rehabilitation services for people with disabilities.

Simama CBR Mbeya is a Community Based Rehabilitation Program implemented by Caritas and the Italian NGO Cesc Project. Area of intervention is Mbeya Region. Aim of the Program is to provide high quality rehabilitation services for people living with disabilities. Simama Cbr also implements school inclusion activities, awareness raising on disability for community members and training for parents of disabled children. At the time being Simama Cbr assists over 200 disabled children amd their families. Simama CBR (Mbeya) ni huduma ya utengamavu inayohusisha jamii nzima katika kusaidia wenye ulemavu. Huduma hii inatekelezwa na Caritas, taasisi isiyo ya kiserikali ya Italia (NGO) ijulikanayo "Cesc Project" ambayo inafanya kazi bega kwa bega na Gondwana. Lengo la programu hii ni kutoa huduma stahiki ya utengamavu kwa watu wenye ulemavu.Huduma zingine ambazo zinatolewa ni kuwajumuisha watoto wenye ulemavu kwenye shule na watoto wasio na ulemavu, kutoa elimu juu ya ulemavu katika jamii na kutoa elimu (mafunzo) kwa wazazi na walezi wa watoto wenye ulemavu. Kwa sasa Simama CBR inasaidia watoto wenye ulemavu zaidi ya 200 pamoja na familia zao.

Wakati mwaka 2022 umefika mwisho, shughuli katika vituo vya utengamao wa mradi wa Simama bado hazijaisha, kwa ahadi zilizotolewa kwa 2023 ni nyingi.
Tuko tayari kuanza mwaka mpya kwa miradi mingi na mipango tofauti.
Tunatazamia kuutumia mwaka mpya pamoja.

While 2022 has come to an end, the activities in the rehabilitation centers of the Simama project are not over, in fact the commitments made for 2023 are many.
We are ready to start a whole new year with lots of projects and different initiatives.
We look forward to spending a new year together.

Krismasi ni sherehe ya kukumbuka umuhimu wa ushirikiano,upendo kwa watu wanaoishi kwenye mazingira hatarishi.
Kilasiku SIMAMA CBR inafanya kazi ya kuendelea kufanya shughuli zake katika vituo vyetu vinavyojumuisha watoto,familia zao na jamii nzima.

Christmas is a celebration to remember the importance of sharing, loving and including the most vulnerable.
Everyday Simama CBR works to continue and to spread these principles through its activities in the centres that involve children, their families and the whole community.

Kuna sababu nyingi zinazo sababisha ulemavu, kuna ajali, wakati wa ujauzito na kujifungua, kuna ulemavu wa kurithi.
Jamii imekuwa na imani mbaya juu ya ulemavu, lakini ulemavu si ugonjwa wala sio kikwazo cha mtu kutofikia malengo yake.
Watu wenye ulemavu wana hazi k**a watu wengine! 𝑲𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒌𝒂 𝑻𝒂𝒏𝒛𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒂 𝒌𝒖𝒏𝒂 𝑺𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒂 𝒚𝒂 𝑾𝒂𝒕𝒖 𝒘𝒆𝒏𝒚𝒆 𝑼𝒍𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒗𝒖, 𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑨𝒄𝒕 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟎, 𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒚𝒐𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒛𝒆𝒂 𝒉𝒂𝒌𝒊 𝒛𝒐𝒕𝒆!

There are many different causes of disabilities. It can be caused by accident, or during pregnancy and/or delivery, there are also inherited disabilities.
Society has sometimes wrong belieds about disability, but disability is neither a disease no a barrier for achieving personal goals.
Persons with disabilities have the same rights like everyone!

Ushirikiano unamaanisha kufanya kazi kwa pamoja na kuchagia kwenye kufikia malengo. Simama CBR inajumuishwa kwenye miradi ya ushirikiano wa kimataifa ambayo unatoa fursa ya uwepo wa wafanyakazi kutoka nje ya Tanzania kwa ufuatiliaji na usimamizi. Kujumuishwa kwenye miradi k**a hii ni muhimu sana kwa Programu yetu kwa sababu inasaidia mazungumzo na ufadhili wa shuguli zipya k**a vile uchunguzi wa lishe ya watoto wetu ulioanza mwezi wa pili mwaka huu. Asanteni kwa shirika lisilo la kiserekali Comunità Solidali nel Mondo na partner yake Gondwana.

Cooperation means working together and actively contributing to the achievement of a goal. SIMAMA CBR is included in international cooperation projects that ensure also expat workers in Tanzania for monitoring and management. The inclusion in these projects is very important for our Program because it facilitates intercultural dialogue and the financing of extra activities as nutritional screening of our children started in february this year. Thanks to our ONG partner Comunità Solidali nel Mondo and its partner Gondwana.

Elimu ni muhimu kwa wote.
Mwaka huu tunatoa mafunzo mafupi ambayo yanalenga wanafunzi wa darasa la tano na la sita, kuhusu maana ya ulemavu, umuhimu wa utengamao kupitia mazoezi na umuhimu wa lishe bora.
Tunafikiri wanafunzi wanahitaji kuelewa kuwa ulemavu sio ugonjwa lakini ni hali.
Na pia lishe bora inasaidia kuzuia ulemavu katika changamoto zingine.
𝙈𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙚𝙩𝙪 𝙣𝙞: 𝙪𝙟𝙪𝙢𝙪𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙟𝙞 𝙣𝙖 𝙠𝙪𝙯𝙪𝙞𝙖!

Education is important for all! This year we are carrying out short trainings addressed to students of fifth and sexth grade abour meaning of disability, the importance of rehabilitation care through exercises and in line with our projects about the importance of a good nutrition!
We think students need to understand that disability is not a disease but a condition! And also proper nutrition helps to prevent disability in some cases.

Zaidi ya shughuli za majumbani, tuna mipango ya kutembelea watoto nyumbani kwa lengo la kufahamu mazingira anayoishi mtoto na kufahamu wana familia,Pia tunafanya kazi kwa kufuatilia watoto ambao wana muda mrefu hawajafika mazoezi,kujua changamoto wanazopitia.

In our activities, we plan to visit children at home with the aim of understanding the child's environment and getting to know family members.
We also work to monitor children who have not been to the centers for a long time, knowing the challenges they are going through.

Tunasema malezi bora yanatokana na familia bora, lakini familia sio ya damu tu. Simama cbr inajifikiria k**a familia kwa wote wanaokuwa kwenye mfumo wake. Kwa hyo tunafurahi kusherekea kwa pamoja na familia zote kwa ujumla siku ya familia.

We say the best education comes from a good family, but the family is not just blood. Simama cbr thinks of itself as a great family for all who are a part of it. So we are happy to celebrate together with all the families in general on family day.

Today is an important day for Tanzania! SIMAMA CBR joins all Tanzanians in celebrating our union between Tanganyika and Zanzibar.

Kusafiri na daladala kwenye mji wa Mbeya inaweza kuwa changamoto kubwa kwa watoto wenye uleamvu na wazazi wao. Vituo vya Simama CBR vina programu za majumbani kwa kuwafikia watoto wanaoishi mbali na vituo na kuwahakikishia maendeleo yao kwenye utangamao. Pia tunatoa huduma hii kwa sababu baadhi ya watoto wetu wanaenda shule na wanachelewa kurudi nyumbani na kuhuduria vituoni. Lakini tunapenda kutembelea nyumba zao na hii pia ni fursa ya kujumuika na jamii na familia.

Moving around the city of Mbeya using public transport can be a physical and economic barrier for many families. Simama CBR centers have outreach programs for reaching children who live far away from the centers and for guaranteeing the continuity of treatments. We also provide this service because some of our children go to school and they are late for attending the centers. Anyway we love to visit their home and this is also an opportunity to socialize with the community and the families.

Kwenye utawala wetu mwaka huu tuna pia Emmanuel Andrew! Huyu ni mratibu msaidizi wa SIMAMA CBR na anafanya kazi ya kumsaidia mratibu mkuu katika shughuli zote za ofisini na katika vituo vyetu. Tunamshukuru kwa ushirikiano wake na tunamkaribisha sana kwenye familia yetu!

Our Story

Simama CBR Mbeya is a Community Based Rehabilitation Program implemented by Caritas, the Italian NGO Comunità Solidali nel Mondo, catholic organizations, local health institutions and individual friends of the Diocese of Mbeya. Area of intervention is Mbeya Region and neighboring regions. Aim of the Program is to provide high quality rehabilitation services for people living with disabilities. Simama Cbr also implements school inclusion activities, awareness raising on disability for community members and training for parents of disabled children. At the time being Simama CBR assists over 300 disabled children and their families.

Mbeya CBR-Simama envisons a society that reduces incidences of disability and realizes the potentialities of the disabled children hence enabling them to participate in various activities for their own future welfare and of the society.

Mission is to strive in promoting community based rehabilitation and the rights for the children with disabilities in such a way that empowers them and their communities. Simama CBR (Mbeya) ni huduma ya utengamavu inayohusisha jamii nzima katika kusaidia wenye ulemavu. Huduma hii inatekelezwa na Caritas, taasisi isiyo ya kiserikali ya Italia (NGO) ijulikanayo "Comunità Solidali nel Mondo”,mashirika ya Kanisa Katoliki, taasisi mahalia za kiafya na marafiki wa Jimbo Katoliki la Mbeya. Eneo linalohudumiwa ni Mkoa wa Mbeya na mikoa jirani. Lengo la programu hii ni kutoa huduma stahiki ya utengamavu kwa watu wenye ulemavu.Huduma zingine ambazo zinatolewa ni kuwajumuisha watoto wenye ulemavu kwenye shule na watoto wasio na ulemavu, kutoa elimu juu ya ulemavu katika jamii na kutoa elimu (mafunzo) kwa wazazi na walezi wa watoto wenye ulemavu.
