A proud moment at the ICASA 2025 in Ghana where Ms. Lydia Masika showcased important findings from the REMIND Kid study. Her presentation, titled “Durability of viral load and Risk of Rebound Among Children in a Trial using Real-Time Medication Monitoring Device to Improve ART adherence in Nothern Tanzania,” highlighted critical insights into treatment outcomes among children living with HIV.
Through a thoughtful analysis of viral load patterns and rebound risks, her work demonstrate the importance the importance of sustained adherence support and early detection strategies to protect long-term treatment success.
Her findings added a meaningful voice to regional and global conversations on paediatric HIV care. Her session drew interest from researchers, clinicians, and policymakers committed to strengthening evidence-based interventions for children across Africa.
A remarkable experience marked by learning, collaboration, and renewed commitment to advancing child-centred HIV programmes. This study was part of the EDCTP senior fellowship Dr. Marion Sumari
