Green and Blue Therapy
You might hear nature therapy called "green care," "green exercise," or "green therapy." That is because its powerful benefit lies in spending time in green spaces.

But nature therapy also includes time spent near soothing blue oceans, blue rivers, and blue lakes. Being near aquatic environments has a psychologically restorative effect. It puts us in good moods. The color blue also represents calm and tranquility.

What Is Nature Therapy?
Nature therapy, which is also called ecotherapy, is based on the concept of using nature to help us heal, especially psychologically. Instead of spending time enjoying and benefiting from the natural environment, we are spending more and more time on screens and online.

We do not spend time outside as much as we did before to decompress, let off steam, or recharge. We may no longer bike through a meadow or play games at the lake, for example, as we did when we were children.

We’ve replaced those leisurely activities with more time spent on social media and video games. The ramifications are we are a stressed-out society with a variety of mental health maladies.

Tips for Meditating

If you are interested in trying meditation, there are some tips and tricks that will help you get started on a beneficial meditation practice.

Start slow. Begin by doing short sessions of around 5 to 10 minutes a day, and then work your way up progressively to longer sessions.
Set a schedule. Try meditating at the same time each day—for a few minutes first thing in the morning, for example.
Get comfortable. Sitting cross-legged on the floor is one option, but comfort is the real key. You need to be in a position where you can sit for several minutes without getting uncomfortable, stiff, or restless.
Focus on what you're feeling. Breathe naturally and notice the feelings and sensations that you experience as you breathe in and out.
Don't try to suppress feelings. Your mind is bound to wander as you meditate—and sometimes this can lead to thoughts and feelings and are uncomfortable or even distressing. The goal isn't to clear your mind of such thoughts. Instead, acknowledge these thoughts without judging them, and then gently guide your focus back toward your breathing.

Meditation: A simple, fast way to reduce stress

If stress has you anxious, tense and worried, consider trying meditation. Spending even a few minutes in meditation can restore your calm and inner peace.

Anyone can practice meditation. It's simple and inexpensive, and it doesn't require any special equipment.

And you can practice meditation wherever you are — whether you're out for a walk, riding the bus, waiting at the doctor's office or even in the middle of a difficult business meeting.

Once moving away from the wall in handstands it’s sometimes so nice to head back to it for drills and refinement! Here are a few of my favorites!

1. Knee Tucks
2. Flutter Kicks
3. Alternating Ls
4. Belly to Wall Hold - I’ve worked my way up to 90seconds
5. Hollowbody - shift back and forth from this shape

Have fun and know that everyday handstands practices are going to feel different. Some days I’m crazy solid and others I’m on the struggle bus. For me, it’s never about the handstand .. it’s about what I learn about myself while holding myself up on my own. Forever a new life lesson. Happy handstanding!

Yoga benefits heart health.

Regular yoga practice may reduce levels of stress and body-wide inflammation, contributing to healthier hearts. Several of the factors contributing to heart disease, including high blood pressure and excess weight, can also be addressed through yoga.

Try it: Downward Dog Pose
Get on all fours, then tuck your toes under and bring your sitting bones up, so that you make a triangle shape. Keep a slight bend in your knees, while lengthening your spine and tailbone.
