Interventional Cardiology in Kharkiv Interventional Cardiology in Kharkiv represents activity of the Dept. of Interventional Cardiology and Cardiac Intensive Care - subdivision of Zaitcev V.T.

Institute for General and Urgent Surgery of Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, where heart surgery was first performed in 1965 by Prof. Shalimov A.A. and the very first stenting of the aorta (EVAR) in the world was done by Prof. Volodos N.L. in 1987. Today, Zaitcev Institute is the leading institution in the Eastern Ukraine for cardiovascular surgery, interventional cardiology and electrophysiology.
