Animals of the Gobi desert are well adapted to the extreme desert climate. The Gobi Desert is one of the foundations of our ancient history as it is the source of many significant fossil discoveries, such as the first dinosaur eggs discovered in the early 1920s. Despite the harsh environmental conditions, this desert is home to many animals, including the Mongolian wild ass, black-tailed gazelles, wild bactrian camels, sandy plovers and marbled polecats, as well as occasional visits from snow leopards and gobi bears.
