We continue to write about successful cases when the efforts of our volunteers achieve their goal. We have known Igor’s mother for a long time and have already donated sensors for the boy several times. Each time, the mother waited her turn for publication and refused to disseminate information about Igor’s needs in the local community.
This was understandable, because Igor’s family are internally displaced persons, currently living outside their hometown. The mother hesitated because there were doubts that the community would join the collection. They are not very well known in the new place, there are no family ties. So there were fears. But on the third attempt, our workers managed to persuade the mother to make the request public. And not in vain!
The community of Zachepyliv region, where Igor now lives with his family, accepted the boy’s needs without hesitation! In a little over a week, the necessary amount was collected. People did not care how long their family had lived in their community, whether they had common acquaintances, relatives, etc. Once again, the Ukrainian community demonstrates that it is capable of humanity, a friendly attitude and understanding. Even during the war, when every family has its own problems and every penny cannot be superfluous, people find an opportunity to help those in need.
We express our great gratitude to the local publication Zhyttya Zachepylivshchyna. Thanks to the participation of this local news resource, we managed to spread Igor's request among the residents of the community. So, the money was collected quickly, and Igor already has sensors for six months of use. We believe that with the help of sensors, the boy's life will be better, and the consequences of diabetes will not be able to destroy his health.
Let's not forget about other children who need help.
We are currently collecting for sensors for 18-year-old Oli from Rivne. The girl has been living on insulin since she was 9 years old. Sensors are a luxury for her that her family cannot afford.
