S***m can only survive in fertility cervical fluid for up to 5 days. Ovulation is an event that lasts for 24 hours only. After 24 hours, the egg disintegrates and conception is no longer possible. This makes conception possible for 6 days each menstrual cycle.
Of course, if you are trying to avoid pregnancy, you should have a few buffer days before and after your fertile window (with confirming ovulation).
For patients trying to conceive, I typically recommend trying every other day around when you think you may be fertile (the week of your ovulation/when you are starting to notice cervical fluid changes), and definitely the day or your LH surge. Your LH surge can be identified using ovulation predictor kits, which measure Luteinizing Hormone (LH).
Ovulation happens 24-36 hours after highest levels of LH.

Robots are now helping create human life by automating key steps in IVF.
A company called Conceivable Life Sciences has built a system named AURA that uses robotics and Al to handle delicate procedures like injecting s***m into an egg. In one trial, a baby was born from an embryo created entirely through this automated process, though doctors still supervised the work.
The idea is to make IVF more reliable and accessible. Today, success often depends on the skill of individual embryologists. By standardizing the process, automation could lower costs and expand fertility options for more people.
But this is not the same as building babies from scratch. The robots don’t handle pregnancy or birth-only the fertilization step. While artificial wombs and child-rearing machines remain science fiction, this shift shows how automation is beginning to reshape even the most fundamental parts of human reproduction.

Baby J’Aime Brown’s entrance into the world was straight out of a numbers game: born on 7/11, at 7:11 PM, weighing 7 lbs 11 oz.
And yes, it all happened on 7-Eleven Day.
When 7- Eleven caught wind of the wild coincidence, they pitched in $7,111 for her college fund, plus diapers, onesies, and a gift basket.
Her mum, Rachel Langford, called it a blessing: “It’s hard for anybody to even get a trust fund for their children... this helps a lot.”

Imagine a branch of science that once lived only in the pages of science fiction novels, now becoming a real-life medical miracle. British scientists have successfully combined DNA from three different people - a father, a mother, and a donor - to create perfectly healthy babies, free from inherited genetic diseases. This groundbreaking technique, known as Pronuclear Transfer, is not just an advancement in reproductive medicine, but a revolutionary leap in genetics, offering new hope to parents who carry deadly mitochondrial diseases.
In this method, the nucleus of a fertilized egg from the parents is transferred into a donor’s egg - one that has had its own nucleus removed but retains healthy mitochondria.
The result is an embryo that carries the parents’ genetic identity but runs on the healthy «cellular batteries» (mitochondria) of a third person. It’s like replacing the entire power grid of a city without altering its architecture, ensuring there will never be a blackout - in this case, the onset of a genetic disease.
The outcome? Eight babies born without any trace of mitochondrial disorders in medical tests and examinations.
This achievement is revolutionary not only scientifically but also ethically and socially, as it marks the first time humanity can effectively and permanently stop the transmission of certain deadly diseases. Put simply, this technology doesn’t just save one generation-it safeguards the health of generations to come, making it one of the rare moments when science truly outruns time itself.

Pretty much everything we have been taught about women’s health is untrue.
What was taught: women age + their egg cells accumulate mitochondrial DNA mutations reducing fertility and embryo health.
What they are finding: In this study researchers found no significant accumulation of mitochondrial DNA mutations in women’s eggs with age.
What regeneration tells me: Our eggs have intrinsic protective mechanisms that keep egg cells genetically «fresh» for decades.
This study is suggesting women have unique longevity preserving biology. Our bodies when in the right environment, when we support our physiology, we are supporting our oocytes to be shielded from mitochondrial DNA mutations accumulation.
«older means more mutations, isn’t always true.»

Mammals share capabilities.
Women have been cut off + have cut themselves off from their life giving capabilities in a multitude of ways.
We have the ability to regenerate our ovaries and keep them healthy so they function at their full capacity.

A Medical First: Treated Before Birth
Doctors at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia have achieved the impossible - treating Pompe disease while the baby was still in the womb.
In the second trimester, the fetus received enzyme replacement therapy, stopping the disease before it could cause deadly muscle and heart damage. The baby was born healthy - the first-ever case of a genetic disorder treated in utero.
This breakthrough could transform prenatal care, opening the door to prevent countless inherited diseases before they even begin.

It takes a lot of energy to create life, and scientists are saying it takes significantly more than they originally believed.
Research shows that pregnancy demands 50,000 dietary calories over the course of nine months, 96% of that energy is required entirely from the mother. That’s roughly 50 pints of Ben & Jerry’s!
Mamas and soon-to-be-mamas? Take a nap-this is not easy!
