The affected not only Ukraine but also its neighbouring countries. Poland took in millions of , mostly women and children, who had to rebuild their lives in a new country.
Illustrator Elena Mistrello met some of these women in . Thus was born ‘Starting over from the remains’, a graphic novel telling stories of resilience and hope.

On February 21, our temporary learning center in Odesa welcomed representatives from the Italian Consulate in Ukraine.

Vice Consul Pier Luigi Curti, Sen. Carlo Calenda, On. Ettore Rosato, and Avv. Francesca Scarpato visited to witness our impactful work with war-affected children. They focused on our children’s community centers in Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv — initiatives carried out in partnership with the Italian branch of the AVSI Foundation. Discussions highlighted the expansion of social initiatives, the integration of modern technologies into education and rehabilitation, and ways to strengthen support for displaced and vulnerable children.

We thank the Italian Consulate for its support and commitment as we work together to secure a safe and sustainable future for Ukraine’s children.
