Augmentin is a penicillin antibiotic.
Augmentin contains a combination of amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium. Amoxicillin is an antibiotic in a group of drugs called penicillin. Augmentin is used to treat many different infections caused by bacteria, such as sinusitis, pneumonia, ear infections, bronchitis, urinary tract infections, and infections of the skin.

“If the vaccine is proved to be effective in the prevention of malaria, it will be introduced as part of the routine child vaccination series in Kenya by 2015,” said Dr Simon Kariuki, the principal researcher at the Kemri/CDC, told AllAfrica.com.
The vaccine, known as Mall55 Study, began trials in 2009 with mandatory preliminary duties preceding the actual study.

Cefixime is a semi-synthetic (partially man-made), oral antibiotic in the cephalosporin family of antibiotics. The cephalosporin family includes cephalexin (Keflex), cefaclor (Ceclor), cefuroxime (Zinacef), cefpodoxime (Vantin), cefprozil (Cefzil), and many injectable forms. Like other cephalosporins, cefixime stops bacteria from multiplying by preventing bacteria from forming the walls that surround them.

The Food and Drug Administration recently approved a new antibiotic named Zyvox for use by adults with pneumonia, skin infections, and those infections shown to be tough to treat bacteria. It is also to be used on people with deadly infections caused by the supergerm enterococcus faecium.
Doctors are getting an important new weapon in the fight against drug-resistant microorganisms with the release of Zyvox. It is being touted as the first new type of antibiotic in 35 years.
