Every day we ensure that our children receive nutritious meals from breakfast to the last meal of the day.

However, good nutrition alone is sometimes not enough if the body is unable to properly absorb these nutrients.

Regular deworming plays an important role in protecting children’s health and ensuring their bodies can fully benefit from the food they eat, especially for those who may be at risk of worm infections.

Have you dewormed your child recently, especially children with disabilities?
Take action today and keep their health protected.

How intentional are we about teaching children the importance of agency and the right to speak up in our schools especially at a time when cases of abuse continue to rise?

At our Bussi Centre, we are choosing to take action. During our Safeguarding Workshop for our vocational learners, we created a safe space for open discussion, reflection, and learning. We emphasized the importance of having the confidence to speak up, reporting safely, and understanding the proper channels for raising concerns.

We also highlighted children’s rights, the right to safety, dignity, protection, and to be heard.

We reminded our learners that speaking up in case of any form of disrespect is not about causing trouble, it is about promoting justice, protecting one another, and ensuring safety for all.

By empowering them with knowledge and clear reporting pathways, we are building a community where everyone feels respected and protected.

Let us all take responsibility as educators, parents, and community members, to nurture children’s agency, encourage open dialogue, and create environments where every child feels safe, confident, and supported to speak up.

Our 2025 Annual Report has been released.

2025 was a year of tremendous progress, marked by both achievements and challenges. While the year presented its share of difficulties, these moments created space for reflection, innovation, and growth.

As an organisation, we paused to reassess our approaches, strengthened our systems, and emerged more resilient, focused, and intentional in the delivery of our services.

We had the honor of receiving the dean of students and the Guild office from Clarke International University , who visited to better understand the work we do and the various ways we support children with disabilities.

The guild office had the opportunity to learn more about our efforts within the disability space, exchange ideas, and explore meaningful areas of collaboration.

We believe this engagement will open more doors for impactful partnerships and continued cooperation with the University.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Clarke International University and its Management for taking the time to visit and engage with us.

Have you heard of hydrotherapy?

Hydrotherapy is a gentle therapy done in water that helps children with disabilities improve movement, build strength, enhance balance, and grow in confidence.

The water naturally supports the body, making exercises easier, safer, and more enjoyable.

That is why we are building a hydrotherapy swimming pool at the Mukisa Inclusive Village on Bussi Island bringing life-changing therapy closer to our children.

Have you or someone you know experienced hydrotherapy before?

We are committed to creating a sustainable nutrition plan for our children with disabilities.

Today, we trained their parents to prepare affordable, homemade nutritious meals using locally available ingredients to prevent further malnutrition.

The two-day training will also cover home food production and the importance of balanced diets to support healthy growth.

As Mukisa, we continue providing nutrition support to children with feeding complications.

👉 What nutritious homemade meals do you prepare for your children? Share with us below.

Meet Kakooza Jessy, a 7-year-old learner who joined Mukisa Foundation School in 2024. With support from our teachers, Occupational Therapist (OT), and Speech & Language Therapist (SLT), Jessy has made wonderful progress in his learning journey, improved his concentration, follows simple instructions, and has also developed fine motor skills and can confidently color within the lines.

We are proud of his progress.

We also thank all our parents and caregivers for keeping our children safe during the long holiday.

📚 We are ready for the new term starting tomorrow!
Lets go💪
