After having dug to a depth of 10 feet last year outside of Buffalo, New York scientists found traces of copper cable dating back 120 years. They came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 100 years ago.

Not to be outdone by the New Yorkers, in the weeks that followed, a Wheeling WV archaeologist dug to a depth of 20 feet somewhere just outside Woodsdale. Shortly after, a story in the The Intelligencer read, "WV archaeologists, reporting a finding of 200 year old copper cable, have concluded that their ancestors already had an advanced high-tech communications network a hundred years earlier than the New Yorkers.

One week later, a local newspaper in Barton Ohio reported the following: "After digging down about 30 feet deep in his pasture near the community of Hellโ€™s Kitchen, Pete Riley, a hell of an engineer and a self-taught archaeologist and gynecologist reported that he found absolutely nothing. Riley has therefore concluded that 300 years ago, Ohio had already gone wireless."

Culture eats strategy for breakfast, but I believe this only if you strategically design your culture.

For over a decade, I've witnessed countless debates on the necessity of a formal education. Yes, it's true that figures like Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates didn't complete their degrees, but it's critical to recognise that they were surrounded by an environment of education from the start. Their parents' educational backgrounds played pivotal roles in shaping their perspectives and opportunities.
While there are exceptions, for most of us, education provides a foundation that can't be easily replicated. It equips us with critical thinking, broadens our horizons, and offers a launching pad for innovation and creativity. More than just textbooks and grades, it's about cultivating a mindset and gaining skills that help navigate an ever-changing world.
So, before you dismiss the value of education, consider the doors it can open for you. A degree may not guarantee success, but it undeniably broadens the pathways leading to it. Value education; it's your gateway to a promising future.

Reflecting on Father's Day yesterday, it was heartwarming to see many fathers acknowledging and celebrating their own roles in their families. These are dedicated dads who lovingly wished their partners a happy Mother's Day, sometimes without the gesture being returned.

This is an indication that fathers, in many cases, may not receive the recognition they so rightfully deserve. To all fathers out there, it's essential to prioritise planning for your retirement. The moment of retirement can sometimes come with challenges, including feeling underappreciated.

Remember, your children will undoubtedly love their mother, and it's a beautiful bond to cherish. However, don't let it lead to feelings of depression or an impression of being left out. Stay strong, be prepared, and remember that your importance in their lives is immeasurable. Happy belated Father's Day!
