Planning to teach a dynamic power flow for tomorrow's in person class at Karuna Studio - Yoga in Uganda, don't worry though, I won't make you do 100 vinyasas or hold warrior 2 for 100 breaths, but it's still probably gonna be quite sweaty !

If there is anything the past few months have taught me, it’s that change is here, and its gonna keep coming! It’s natural to feel some resistance at first, but you quickly realize how draining that can be to keep up. The sooner you can find acceptance of what is, the sooner you can figure out how you are going to swim or surf these constant waves of change.

The thought of teaching online classes has always intimidated me, I prefer being behind the camera rather than in front of it. It took a nationwide lockdown to push me out of my comfort zone, but with the inspiration and support of the Karuna Studio - Yoga in Uganda community, I’ve been able to adapt and adjust my classes, and it’s filled my heart with hope for the future. Change is hard, but it’s a necessary part of growth, and having a community around you (together, although apart) definitely makes it a little easier

It’s been an amazing experience being able to share my practice on the Karuna Global Studio (K.Glo) these past few months, and I'm hoping to see a season 2 soon. This is the last week of classes, which will be topped off with a Virtual Wellness Festival next weekend !

I’ll be teaching one last class tomorrow morning 9.30am (Wednesday 10th June), and planing for a fun dynamic Afrikan Yoga inspired flow, so why not join me for one last Zoom class !

This pandemic has forced alot of us to work or study online for the past couple of months, which means spending even more time than usual hunched over our phones and laptops.

This can cause neck, shoulder and back pain, as well as negatively affect your respiratory, circulation and digestive systems too.

One way to counter this is to include some neck stretches in your daily exercise.

Here is a hyperlapse of a set of of neck exercises I practiced today from Isha Foundation ! They were simple to follow, dont require any equipment to do, and felt great !

I won't be able to teach my regular Tuesday morning zoom class this week ( due to some work deadlines ) but I would like to share another meditation with you to try this week, from the Isha Foundation. Remember, the physical aspect of yoga is only one facet of this multi-dimensional practice!

It's so easy to get wrapped up in daily roles and routines, to the point that they begin to define us....and when we are faced with an interruption, we can sometimes feel lost.

This Isha Kriya is a simple meditation that has helped me reconnect with the source of my existence, and reminded me to create a life according to my own wish and vision.

Want to give it a try ? You can find the full guided meditation here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwQkfoKxRvo

As we start to take better care of ourselves during this pandemic, let’s not forget about also improving the quality and vitality of our lungs and breath. One side effect of the Corona Virus is that it has made us take notice of the things we often take for granted, especially the ability to breathe!

Breath is such a powerful thing, it literally gives us life. Breathwork is an important aspect of yoga practice, and it has shown me how different breathing techniques can be used to shift mental focus, mood, emotions and so much more.

A friend from Isha Uganda recently shared a series of Kriyas that I will be sharing weekly this month. They are beginner-friendly, free and come with some insights from Sadhguru, founder of Isha Foundation

Take a few moments this week to practice these kriyas and do share with me your experience, and if they have had any impact on your wellbeing.
