Weโ€™re excited to announce that MJAP has had seven (07) abstracts accepted for presentation at the upcoming National Annual Communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases (NACNDC) and 19th Joint Annual Scientific Health (JASH) Conference, to be held at Munyonyo Speke Resort.

Today, our teams in Mulago provided HIV Testing Services, Cancer of the cervix screening, and other prevention services to the community around Kyebando at Jericho Breakers Church in Kyabando. This initiative aims to make screening more accessible to women.

By scaling the use of proven tools and models, fostering innovation, and empowering communities, we can work towards eliminating cervical cancer within our lifetime.

"Today, we officially commissioned the Community Health Extension workers =CHEWs training in Namayingo District โ€” a key step toward strengthening community health systems. The ceremony was graced by the RDC, Deputy CAO, DHO, MoH National trainers, District Health Educator, and Assistant District Health Officer.

The training equips individuals with the skills and knowledge to support their communities in accessing healthcare and promoting well-being.

By focusing on comprehensive training, strategic partnerships, and supportive policies, the Ministry of Health is working to strengthen the community health workforce and improve health outcomes for all citizens.

As part of its ongoing collaboration with STRIPE-HIV partner institutions, the Education for Interprofessional HIVโ€“Uganda (EIPHIV-U) project, in partnership with the College of Health Sciences at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), conducted a field site support supervision visit focused on continuous quality improvement (CQI). The team visited three affiliated hospitals in Kumasi, Ghanaโ€”Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Maternal and Child Health Hospital (MCHH), and Kumasi South Hospital (KSH) to provide technical support and strengthen CQI initiatives at the clinical training sites.

Today, we received a team from
Global Health Security department for strategic partnerships, expert knowledge sharing in surveillance, public health workforce development, and outbreak response. The team underscored the need to support the reactivation of the regional emergency operation centre at Jinja, build capacity for Mpox drop-in Centres, and identify Ebola cases in the region among others.
