HOW MANY TIMES SHOULD ONE RUN IN A WEEK?

Doc, is it okay to run every day? The short answer is "NO" Running every day is not healthy at all. The more you run frequently, the more you increase the chances of injuring your tissues, ligaments, and tendons.

For beginners, running 3 to 4 days is scientifically proven to be safe for one's health. this limits the risks of injuring your muscles or tissues.

You as well need rest to recover from the mild injuries or give room for your muscles to recover. Run-on ONE, then rest, Run-on TWO then rest, and Run-on 3 then rest. By doing this, you are advising your body to fully recover when the body is at rest.

Running for 15-30 minutes at a speed of 10 to 20 KM/h is enough to give you the results you desire. You can start small, keep adding on after every day until when you can jog beyond 10-15 KMs.

The best time to run is always in the mornings and evenings.

We are saddened by the untimely demise of our friend Kipsang Rogers Chekwel. The management of Good care bedside co. ltd sends prayers and condolences to his friends, families and relatives.

He was such a jovial and people-centred persona who did not only contribute to the growth of the health sector in Chesower community but also loved to serve the people of Bukwo and other localities with passion.

I am convinced beyond reasonable doubts that we have lost a formidable hero. Till we meet again our brother.

Our wishes for strength, acceptance and resilience is what we send to the family in this period of bereavement and grief.

The Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Dr Ruhakana Rugunda has today flagged off 10 ambulances procured by Uganda Red Cross Society with funding from Government of Uganda.
The 10 fully equipped ambulances classified as class B cost UGX 2Bn are aimed at improving emergency and accident response along major highways in Uganda.

“This is a big achievement for our country. This collaboration is crucial because Uganda Red Cross has the capacity. There is already substantial evidence with Bududa and recently when we were faced with the COVID-19 response pandemic” ~ Dr Rugunda said.

“It is our dream that in the next three years we shall have a fleet for every region with call centres. We hope that these ambulances are centrally managed” ~ Dr. Diana Atwine said.

The ambulances will provide emergency services on the highways of Kampala-Masaka-Mbarara- Kabale, Lira-Mbale, Kampala-Gulu,Kampala-Malaba and 2 will be stationed in the Kampala Metropolitan Area.

MTN Uganda has rewarded athlete Joshua Cheptegei for his recent exploits at the Monaco Diamond League meet, where he set a new 5000 metres world record of 12:35.36, breaking Kenenisa Bekele's 16-year old world record of 12:37.35.

In recognition of this milestone, MTN Uganda has offered a cash prize of UGX 123, 536,000 and a telecommunication package of 12GB of data, 35 voice minutes and 36 SMS per month for twelve months. Both prizes symbolize the new 12.35.36 world record time.

Speaking at the handover ceremony at Mbale Resort Hotel, MTN Uganda CEO Wim Vanhelleputte paid tribute to Joshua. “In sport, recognizing and rewarding milestones is widely accepted as an essential motivation in getting athletes to reach their peak potential. And so, as Joshua continues to take on other sporting challenges, Uganda ought to recognize and celebrate this remarkable achievement.”
