Uganda Network of AIDS Service Organisations UNASO, established in 1996 in order to provide a platform for coordination,networking resource mobilization and information for AIDS Service Organisations

The Uganda Network of AIDS Service Organizations (UNASO) was established as a membership organization in 1996 in order to provide a platform for coordination, networking resource mobilization and information sharing among civil society AIDS service organizations (ASOs) so as to improve on the effectiveness, efficiency and quality of their contribution to the national response to the HIV and AIDS epidemic. UNASO members include PHA groups, local Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Faith Based organizations (FBOs), Community Based organizations (CBOs), Cultural institutions and international NGOs. To date, UNASO’s membership stands at over 2000 organisations with the CBOs and NGOs constituting 60% and 26% of the registered organizations respectively.

Kennedy with Ambassador Dr Nkengasong US Global AIDS coordinator and special representative for Global Health Diplomacy attending PEPFAR COP23 meeting in Johannesburg South Africa.We are advocating for pepfar to scale up PreP, CAB ,and new innovative HIV prevention products and fund Community -led KP direct. We are asking Development partners to work with CSOs or community as partners and not engage them when they want to achieve their own goals. We need to integrate health services to do more with less. has committed $40billion under a new program LIFT UP.Special request to AVAC ,can we tap on the opportunity from PEPFAR.
