Ccdi- Computer Career Development Initiative

Ccdi- Computer Career Development Initiative The group was later on joined by students from other schools within Makerere and other institutions (UCU, Nkozi and others). twice a year.

CCDI Africa started as group (Computer Research Organization, CRO) of computer science Students School of computing and information science Makerere University with intentions of sharing and consolidating knowledge and skills among themselves to attain various practical skills from experts in the computing environment. The group (CRO) turned into a company registered as Computer Career Development Initiative limited (CCDIL Africa). The major goal (CRO) was to add value to students’ degrees by imparting practical skills through sharing and training from experts in order to compete favorably on the job market and to attain the standards required expertise by the employers. This cause has been pursued passionately and has been a success. The need for such an arrangement has been reflected by the big number of subscribers to the group on our face book page from all over the world including Philippines, Germany and others. Due to the increasing demand for Health, industrial, agricultural and entertainment applications solving community problems and needs, we started a successor of CRO, Computer Career development Initiative as a company registered in Uganda as limited by guarantee to run both Career development and business -outsourcing, developing applications, and ICT solutions among others. The company has an executive under the chairman, it oversees the overall running of the company as a whole. It has a department of directors that manage the finances, operations, administration, relations, marketing, advertisement and branding of the company. We have dedicated teams of individuals under each department that implement the company duties. giving them practical computing skills through the different projects carried out. Most of the group members have a variety of skills and experience in programming, networking, database development, website development and others. The organization aims at getting the different projects done by the students each year to modify them and suit the business standards and sell them to the people outside through their website on which they are displayed. The CCDI is a registered organization as a company limited by guarantee by the founder members who are also the shareholders. It also has the subscriber members who are supposed to contribute 10,000/= each semester of study i.e. The CCDI also does outsourcing work whereby companies which feel that some work is much for them can partner it with CCDI so members have a chance to do so many other projects like those of networking, data entry, accounting, computer maintenance etc. The organization is in partnership with Makerere University, Genext muk chapter and looking forward to creating more partnerships with so many other organizations and universities within East Africa and the World at large in its aim to promote practical computing and experience among students. This particular proposal seeks funding from the Youth Development Fund (Ministry Of finance) to help the organization to run (developing and testing) many of its projects.
