Uganda Kidney Psychosocial Support Organization is a Non-Governmental Organization fully registered and established under the laws of the Republic of Uganda and it is anchored to Ministry of Health. The primary beneficiaries of Uganda Kidney Psychosocial Support Organization’s service delivery are vulnerable children, adults and famil
ies affected by the kidney condition. Kidney disease is one of the commonest non communicable illnesses that we currently see in our health care system. Because of the duration of the illness, multiple complications associated with the disease, high cost of treatment, kidney patients and their families suffer a lot of psychological, social and economic trauma. Uganda Kidney Psychosocial Support Organisation is therefore an inbuilt support for the patients and their families to obtain meaningful psychosocial support while undergoing different kinds of treatment which are delivered by the medical support system. Uganda Kidney Psychosocial Support Organisation supports the existing health care system to have a multidisciplinary care approach for kidney failure patients and their families. Psychosocial support mainstreaming is the face of Uganda Kidney Psychosocial Support Organisation. Through participatory methodologies, Uganda Kidney Psychosocial Support Organisation generated a strategic plan and a program proposal covering both the technical and financial aspects and they are technically well engineered with a goal, objectives, workable and logical flow of strategies, linked activities, well defined systems and results with a well-constructed out modest budget. The program proposal and strategic plan are shared upon request. Uganda Kidney Psychosocial Support Organisation therefore appeals for global connections, linkages and strategic networks in order to create an improved care and meaningful support for kidney failure patients, kidney transplantees and their families at Health Renal Unit, Family and Community levels.
