With schools being closed for close to two years in Uganda ever since the outbreak of the Corona virus, alot has happened to our children, parents, and the community at large .
Many teenagers have become victims of the lockdown, where this has resulted into drug abuse ,raise in teenage pregnancies among others .
As LICSOU we too were affected as far as service delivery is concerned ,but thank God ,alot of lessons have been drawn from these tough times,it's upon this that together with our friend Ilaria who always does a fundraising for us during her birthday ran a fundraising campaign so that as an organisation,we too can be part of this cause.
It's upon this background that we have decided to engage the community of Luweero sub county, where we shall have group discussions with the youth, parents and the local council teams, and this is aimed at making each entity to be able to know there role in the fight to reduce on the teenage pregnancies and also get to address issues of where and when to engage who when such incidences happen.
We also noticed that, most of the homes in the sub county don't have hand washing facilities, and we also know in this COVID era, hand washing is a very important aspect in the fight against the pandemic .
We have chosen to erect one hundred tippy taps in the first phase and this will help empower homes on the aspect of hand washing .
We believe each one of us can lay a brick towards achieving this milestone .
Lastly, we want to thank Ilaria and those friends who contributed to this cause .
Together we can get over this
