👒 Wear hats and sunglasses.
🌳 Seek shade during peak hours (10 a.m. - 4 p.m.).

As July 4th celebrations near, we urge you to prioritize 🧨 fireworks safety, 🧨 not only for you but also for your 🐾 beloved pets 🐾. Mishandling fireworks can quickly turn a celebration into tragedy and animal shelters often see a 30% to 60% increase in lost pets July 4th - 6th. Take a moment to review the safety resources provided below to ensure fireworks remain safe and fun for your family.

In 2024, there were 11 reported fireworks-related deaths, an estimated 14,700 injuries and approximately 1,700 emergency room treated injuries in 2024 involving sparklers. Stay safe and enjoy the festivities!

This week is National Police Week and today is National Peace Officers Memorial Day. In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.
