New Day Wellness & Recovery hosted Marcus Haynes on Tuesday of this week for the Smoking Cessation Group, held 3X per week.

Today, New Day had Bel Air United Methodist come by to bring weekly food produce and provide Blessings and a Back Pack Ministry with Paula Van Hart.

On behalf of the New Day Wellness & Recovery Center, the board of directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Janna Wood as our new Executive Director.

Ms. Janna Wood was born and raised in Harford County. She has a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Towson University. She retired from
the Harford County Sheriff’s Office as a deputy in 2024. During her career, she was a crisis/ hostage negotiator for more than 12 years and a founding member of the crisis intervention team and peer support and critical incident stress management (CISM) team. Janna also teaches as an adjunct professor for Harford Community College.

In her free time, she enjoys reading, relaxing and doing DIY projects at home, as well as spending time on the water in her kayak. She fosters kittens to help socialize and get them ready for adoption through local shelters and rescues.

As efforts continue throughout the county to ensure safe travel conditions, Harford County Public Schools will be closed Wednesday, January 28, 2026. No afterschool or evening activities. Please contact our office to find out ways to get involved including offering transportation of donations/goods to the center to save staff time, making monetary or in-kind donations, and providing administrative help to the center.
