Phillip Webber

Phillip Lee Webber, 62, of Abilene, Texas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 17, 2026.

Phil was born on July 15, 1963. He was raised in church and faithfully served the Lord throughout his entire life. As a teenager, he accepted Christ as his Savior at church camp, a decision that shaped the course of his life and ministry. He attended Bible college in Springfield, Missouri, and later earned his master’s degree in theology from Liberty University.

Phil began his ministry as youth pastor at his home church, Wichita Baptist Tabernacle in Wichita, Kansas. A gifted musician, he also taught music classes at the church’s Christian school. It was there that he met the love of his life, Wendi. They were married in 1989 and faithfully served together in ministry for more than 36 years.

Phil and Wendi ministered in San Angelo, Texas, for 19 years before moving in 2012 to Boston, Massachusetts, where Phil served at Boston Baptist College as Dean of Men and a theology professor. In 2014, the family returned to Texas, where Phil pastored in Nederland for six years before moving to Abilene in 2020.

More than anything, Phil loved his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who treasured every moment spent with them. He is survived by his beloved wife, Wendi Webber; his children, Bailey and Weslee Parker, Wesley and Rachel Webber, and Kyle and Kaitlyn Webber; and his cherished grandchildren, Lennox, Maddox, and Dax Parker.

Phil had a deep love for the church and dedicated his life to serving God’s people. He surrounded himself with his longtime high school friends, friends in ministry, and church members who became like family. He was passionate about sharing Jesus with those who needed to know Him and found great joy in worship and music. Phil loved Southern Gospel music and attended as many concerts as he could. Next to music, watching the Cubs play baseball was his favorite way to spend time.

Phil will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his teaching, his servant’s heart, and his deep love for his family and the Lord. While his absence leaves a tremendous void, his family rejoices in the promise that he is now whole, healed, and in the presence of Jesus.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 27, at 4:00 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church in Abilene, Texas. A livestream will be available for those unable to attend.

Happy Presidents' Day! Did you know that Presidents' Day was first established in 1885 as George Washington Day? It wasn't until 1971 that it gained its current name.

Rebecca Medina

On February 9, 2026, Rebecca ("Becky") was called home to be with the Lord, at the age of 85. She passed away peacefully at her home in Abilene, Texas, in the presence of her family.

Becky was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed a long, adventurous, and joyous life alongside her beloved husband of 65 years, Amadeo R. Medina ("Art”). Becky and Art married on September 9, 1960, and she stood faithfully beside him throughout his career as a Diplomat with the United States Government, which took their family to several countries across Latin America. During the many years spent away from her beloved New Mexico family, Becky remained steadfast in her role as a full-time mother and devoted wife.

Together, Art and Becky had three children: David Medina and his wife, Eileen, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Dorothy Oakeley and her husband, Brian, of Abilene, Texas; and Edward Medina and his wife, Jo Ann, of Sandia Park, New Mexico. Becky is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sister Olivia Greemun and brothers Felix and Ben Montoya.

Becky was preceded in death by her beloved siblings, Estella Valverde and Joe Montoya. Becky was born in Durango, Colorado, on October 4, 1940, to Eduardo and Lidia Montoya.

Becky was raised in Wagon Mound, New Mexico, graduating from Wagon Mound High School. Becky's deep love for her hometown remained with her throughout her life.Becky dearly loved and cared for her animals and plants, viewing them as precious creations of God. Her love for the Lord was evident in her kindness, humility, and compassion for others—always making those around her feel valued and loved. Her sincere faith was passed on to her greatest joy in life: her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

While we grieve the loss of wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, we rejoice in the knowledge of her great gain: eternal life with our Savior, whom Becky loved deeply above all.

We invite you to share your thoughts and fond memories with our family as we celebrate Becky’s life on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at Mountain Valley Church, 5 Dinkle Rd., Edgewood, New Mexico, 87015, with Becky's grandson, Isaac Medina officiating. A burial service will take place Labor Day weekend, Sunday, September 6, 2026, at 2:00 pm, at Hillside Cemetery, Wagon Mound, New Mexico. The family wishes to thank Mountain Valley Church, Edgewood, New Mexico, for their loving support of our beloved mother.

Her favorite, Psalm 23:

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside still waters.

He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
