I put up our Tree today . When my kids were little we always decorated a tree together.
As they became adults and had thier own homes and holiday decor, I felt less need to have a tree. If I knew we had little kiddos or chosen family joining us Christmas Day, I would often put a tree up and decorate for them. Some years we had too many new kittens to " fight the fight" 🐈🐈⬛😂 or I was just too busy & physically exhausted. I have this great, old fashioned 3' Santa I would put up with a few decorations and call it good. Somewhere along the line, my mantel garland has become year round decor because I love it and why not?
This year there will be no kiddos, or extra guests at the table. The family attending have thier own trees up , and our gathering will be small and simple. Yet for weeks I have had the desire to put my tree up and have been mentioning to the hubby we needed to get it out of the shed. I wasn't able to articulate WHY it was so important to me this year so my simple request fell on deaf ears.
Until this morning . In the moment between my first cup of coffee and him leaving the house we had an unspoken alignment and we brought it in together. 🎄
I plugged in the base before it was even put together and carefully unfurled each branch by the soft white light . Adding the second section of branches & lights, and then the third, I felt a sense of peace and understanding fill my spirit.
In the state of the world, it is my physical reminder that Everything Cycles and Light will ALWAYS return. ☀️❤️
